I've ordered one of these . Is the idea that rear lights and plate are sufficiently visible that you can get away without a light board?
Edit - although I've just remembered that with nothing plugged into the tow bar electrics, and a rack fitted, the car won't let you reverse... could be an issue.
I discovered this when attempting to drive to Halfords to get a 7 pin -> 13 pin adaptor, with the tow hitch mounted bike rack already on the back of the car. And then I absentmindedly drove into a cul-de-sac.

You'll know full well that it's not working as it should now but it lasted a good number of years before it's got a bit shagged so I still think at £55 it's the one to get. It's quick, easy, and compact when folded so you can just stick it in the boot at all times in case of a bike related emergency.
