  • Half a size for the Fred boots, however this is with a thicker boot sock.

  • I've got some Cheaney Tweed C in Almond Size 12 that im certain are too big for me.

Anyone interested? RRP 375, but 150ish takes them.

  • They look good, hope someone here grabbed em

  • Great deal for a big foot

  • same as Barker's...if that helps.

  • This seems likely the best place to ask this. I have a leather watch roll where the leather seems to have become dull. What's the best way of bringing it back to life? Cheers

  • Hard to tell looking on my phone, but that looks a bit like the bloom you get on bridle leather as the oils come to the surface. Does it buff off with a soft cloth?

  • My long awaited William Lennon boots have arrived.
Many custom options, Horween Chromexcel, bellows tongue, leather lined and full leather insole. Very reasonably priced, and not too long to wait, (about 6 weeks)

  • Very nice! What model were they based on - 178s (with extra eyelets?) And what colour is that leather exactly? I could be tempted to go for that as and when I get another pair...

  • More images please!

  • It's Oxblood colour Chromexcel, and yes, 178 (that is the standard height, 7 eyelets)
They look higher because the tongue comes up really high. I'm not sure they didn't forget to trim that, I'll be cutting them down myself I think. Just been for a walk and they are really comfy straight out the box.

  • Sure

  • Yeah, I've got the Waxy Tan 178s, and the tongue's much smaller, though I kind of like the oversized look. The Oxblood looks good - should break in nicely.

  • They look lovely. Got a side / profile shot as well?

Mind if I ask how much they were all in?

  • I size a half side down in Grenson compared to trainers, but find they are true to size compared to other British proper leather shoes, i.e. my Church's are pretty much the same.

  • They were just over £200, which considering the options is an amazing bargain. That included delivery too.

  • It's oak bark tanned leather if that means anything. Rubbing it with a cloth makes no difference.

  • Very nice indeed! The leather pull-on loops are a good idea - they look sturdier than the cloth ones on mine.

  • Hmm, then I'd maybe try rubbing in some leather conditioner and see if that did anything; if not, I might try saddle soap, then a treat with conditioner once dry.

  • One of the many extras. They do make it much easier to pull them on, as does the lining. I have cloth pull tabs on a couple of pairs of boots and they are really fiddly.

  • Has anyone any experience in cleaning md polishing these? I have a similar pair of Barkers and I can’t seem to get them cleaned or polished. I’m pondering using black polish on them as per a previous post.
There seems to be a coating on the leather of some sort preventing ‘normal’ polishing.
I should add that i can polish shoes etc.

  • What do you mean by them not polishing - not going shiny? Also are you using cream or polish?

I'd wash/clean with saddle soap. Leave to dry naturally and condition with whatever you usually use (I use Saphir Renovator cream)

  • I’ve tried both polish and cream. The leather does not seem to ‘take’ the polish as normal shoes would.
I’ll get some saddle soap and try that.
I take it that the Black polish would be a bad move?
    Thanks.

  • The leather does not seem to ‘take’ the polish

Still a bit confused. If they're clean and not cracking does it matter?

Or are you trying to make them darker?
