Agree with the above. A buttery is known as a Rowie in Aberdeen. It is a lard based salty croissant. Actually quite nice
Plenty of good drinking holes in Aberdeen from the hipster craft beer places, to the old mannie pubs.

The old railway line is a nice ride out to Ellon but can be rough. There is also very quiet B road which takes you directly there too. Park and Ride bus takes you right to near the brewery too.For food Cafe 52 on The Green is nice independent place.

They are amazing, but deadly
Head to the Kirkgate Bar as well as the Grill.
The KGB is just a great boozer and there are photos of me on the wall, which make it even greaterer
The Prince of awakes is also a great great pub with an excellent whisky selection
