  • Hi Martin, please send me more photos: lesente@gmail.com

I'm not an expert of cyclocross models but we can try to analyze it.

@SideshowBob 🤣 thanks for the trust!

  • Hi Martin, I just saw the photos.
I don't think it is a Moser: not right fork, missing panto at least on the bb shell.

It is repainted not with the right decals.

  • Updated collection @ pg. 6

  • Simply impressive.

I am starting to think you're F.Moser himself, in disguise

  • Thanks, Lesente! That's what I started to think. The paint indeed doesn't look like it's the original one. And the 'Zeus 2000' mark on the fork crown is odd too.

It's just a bit strange that some 30+ years ago when the previous owner bought the bike, a bike shop (cf. two decals on the down tube) sold him a fake Moser (Original Zeus?). I thought that happens only nowadays, with all the hipster vintage bike craze! ;-)

Anyway, I'm kind of relieved that it's not an authentic bike as I can now adjust it freely to my needs (bullhorn bars, mini v-brakes, mudguards) without having to feel guilty of destroying a cultural heritage! ;-)

    Thanks again!
    Martin

  • Yes, yes, yes, yes!! That is a great collection. I especially like the De Rosa Team "Sanson Campagnolo" and Zenon JaskuÅ‚a's bikes. Is the TT on De Rosa slightly slopped or is it just the photo?

  • Thanks @anidel and @Pawlus. Sorry pawlus, what is TT? Top tube? The bike has normal geometry. Is that one.

  • I bought this frame and am currently building it with DA 7800. Photos to follow.
    I have 3 other Mosers.
    Cheers,
    Mike

  • Here's mine, Modello Grand Prix, Columbus SL circa 1987, Campagnolo Victory groupset (all NOS) Cinelli XA stem, 66/40 bars, San Marco Rolls, Campagnolo Victory Crono rims, 52/42, 13-23. How bikes used to be!

  • So much like the Victory. Nice work!

  • I'd like to know more about my Moser 'Hunter' track bike, if anyone can provide input.

The bike was originally a lighter blue than shown in the pictures (has been previously repainted), and as far as I can make out the stamps on the BB are "F Moser" and "55"/"55". Dropouts are stamped "PEV Campagnolo", and the Fork has "F Moser" on the top of the stanchions. Dropouts are obviously horizontal and the frame and fork have no brake mounts.

The tubing is unidentified, seat stays are ovalized. The top tube has a decal (painted over) that declares it to be a Hunter and seems to have an image of a jawbone(?)

Any thoughts? Input is much appreciated.

  • @Lesente is very knowledgeable on Moser.

  • HI
Don't know if this has been asked before, but how do you date F Moser Frames/bikes ?
    Hopefully
    Chris

  • A very good resource is this website created by @Lesente -

    https://mosercollection.jimdo.com

This site has a wealth of information with a great collection of catalogues which should help with dating a frame.

  • Thanks that looks very useful.
    Chris

  • I couldn't help myself, just purchased this little beauty ...
