  • yeah i still like to know what the fuck is going on.

    /grumbles in german

  • Get Oliver to come over and do a live translation for you?

  • he'd only get hair everywhere.

  • Watched Suspiria regardless of the lack zee german. There's no doubt it is a fantastically well made movie and it certainly delivers on the wtf / delicious ichor front - i'm just not sure i enjoyed it as much as i'd hoped.

and i watched Mandy again which is like being in the artwork for the best heavy metal album ever recorded and nicholas cage is there. amazing.

  • Suspiria 77?

  • Watched Victoria

A great film even more so knowing it is one continuous take.

  • ANOTHER ghostbusters .....teaser trailer is up on the net. supposed to be direct sequel to first 2 and ignoring the "reboot" - following typical hollywood fashion of retooling for younger/diverse audience, then ignoring it a few years later to drag back the 100 year old actors with cgi youth-face and squish whats left out of the franchise.....

  • Anyone watched West of Memphis about the WM3?

  • The heavy metal version of the MC5?

  • mad max fury roads on channel 5.

easily the best action movie of the last 10 years.

  • A Quiet Place - Excellent film

The 12th Man - Norwegian WW2 film, superb if somewhat gruseome film, based on a true story

In Order of Disappearance - Norwegian film, about a father avenging the death of his son at the hands of drug smugglers. Intermittently dark and quirk. Good stuff.

  • Watched the animated Batman vs Two-face. It had Adam West, Burt Ward and William Shatner doing voices so like a modern day old batman, was great.

  • Elle. So good.
The House That Jack Built. Not bored for a second of it. Offensive and nasty. Enjoyed.

  • Also Enemy was creepy and full of menace and made me look up what the hell it meant afterward.
And Essential Killing is good if you like dreadfully bleak chases in the snow.
    Thank you Curzon12.

  • Just watched Roma, stunning. Every frame is perfect.

  • Caught Nae Pasaran in Shipley this evening, a truly heartfelt story.

Worth seeking out if it's showing near you.

  • Has anyone mentioned Leave no trace? Rented it on Prime on a whim and surprisingly very good, quite affecting really. Nothing much happens but it's done impeccably

  • Just bailed on Mary Poppins. Mrs EB target audience, in so much as she loves a musical. She leans over and says 'This is wank'....

Emily Blunt has all the warmth of a fucking brillo pad

  • Roma - very,very good.

  • Pretty much my experience. Dire. And to add insult to injury, over half the cinema audience cheered and clapped at the end.

  • People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.

  • Green Book - 60’s road trip movie but so much more than that, it’s almost perfect.

Roma is the “better film” but I enjoyed Green Book just that bit extra.

  • yeah green book is straight up "black character exists almost entirely to assist in the redemption of associated white character" tho... it's a bit iffy.

  • Took me bloody ages to finally watch I, Daniel Blake, excellent.
Now onto the climbing films, Meru, then Dirtbag, and when it's released on DVD, Free Solo. Time to dust off the crash pad and Boreals and get myself to the Roaches (when it gets a bit warmer).
