  • Passed a guy on a nice little mini-velo style thing with a front rack & hammered mudguards. He sounded cheery when I complimented him on his bike.

  • Don’t lean in south Oxfordshire this morning
    #freezy

  • Saw one of those DHL cargo recumbents I read about live for the first time, across the street from St Thomas' Hospital. Absolutely great idea and goes to show you can transport quite a lot of stuff without the need of a van.

  • This is the reason I never shout or let a ped know I'm there if they step out. I brake/adjust to avoid them. Then shout obscenities if necessary.
As soon as they become aware you've got no fecking idea what they're going to do and it becomes terrifying for everyone.

  • Riding home on the OKR I get a nasty close pass from an Audi bellend with naff personal plate. I then watch him carve between lanes cutting up other rivers pretty badly. Shock horror he's not made it further than the next set of lights so I take the risk as I have to turn right of going in front of him in the ASL box. Looking round I can see he's on the phone so I give him the hard stare until he looks up and I find myself giving him the sarcastic Chuck Norris thumbs up. The lights change and I roll forward bracing myself for it and sure enough he gets within inches off me and the window rolls down...

With a massive smile on his face he says "I'm having a baby mate! Sorry, I'm not a massive cunt!"

The best I could manage was "well don't drive like one then" but I actually think he was being genuine and it kind of tickled me the whole ride home, that and the fact I was relieved he didn't kill me.

  • Sounds like a happy cunt

  • the novelty of a baby wears off pretty quick

  • He just sounds like a cunt to me.

  • I saw a Deliveroo rider with a front light.

  • They forgot to turn it off after riding to work.

  • Don't say that, first scan today!

    I don't have a car though...

  • A cynical view would have it that it could reflect badly on you in court as well. If you have time to shout, you have time to avoid etc.

  • Was a Richmond Park wanker this morning to blow away the cobwebs caused by last night's ale and curry. Nice ride. Most people fairly cheery. Decent driving from almost everyone we came across. Apart from one idiot close/punishment pass with a massive bike rack on his car (wtf???).

  • finally, been giggling about this for nigh on 15 years in shame waiting for someone else to notice

I think it's fairly widely celebrated
    http://www.sculpture.org.uk/artwork/bollards-oval-peg-penis

Whilst the local council withdrew their funding for the bollards, naming the design as controversial, local traders stepped in to fund the project themselves.

  • C O L D. Need new overshoes.

  • Don’t buy BBB ‘Heavy Duty’ ones. Utterly useless. Waste of £15

  • Have yet to find the holy grail :(

  • Yep, I should ready myself for active defence.

  • Over socks are the way

  • So underrated. RIP £2 Decathlon ones they were clearing out a few years back.

  • That was proven in last years infamous case.

  • Giant make some quite nice overshoes.

Have used them a couple of times with no noticeable damage, unlike BBB.

They are fleece lined but quite sleek. Cheap, too... £10 a pair if I remember correctly.

  • thanks, will check them out!

  • Don’t buy BBB ‘Heavy Duty’ ones. Utterly useless. Waste of £15

I'm still using a pair of these, and have been for three years....longest any form of overshoe has ever lasted for me!

  • Ah, not knocking the ‘build quality’, looks like they’ll be robust, but they don’t keep me feet warm. Haven’t had proper rain to see how waterproof/resistant yet.
