I think the Labour Female MP grouping are playing a shrewd game here.
Brandon Lewis, (Chairman of the Tory Party, no less), showed the Tories cannot be trusted to honour pairings. A proxy voting system is the obvious way forward.
The pregnancy arrangements of Tulip Siddiq may be dismissed by those oblivious to the HoP precedures, but, it will help whoever would change the system, with a piece of concrete evidence.
Brexit may be consuming all the Parliamentary time,
but,
positive changes to parliamentary procedure can be pushed through to the benefit of future MPs.
