I put el guapo's on my bike recently too. Cheapest wide bars you can buy.

They really do. That was a thought, but I’m a bit worried about hopping over stuff on rigids.
-
• #13104
To be honest, they feel fine. Sometimes PX is alright.

I've put 780mm bars on but my wrists hurt instantly. Should I cut them down or get some with more sweep?
-
• #13106
No idea, but these are 760’s and I have less ache in my hands/wrists today than I did with the 600’s every day til now.
-
• #13107
How far back/forward are they rotated? I find that can make a massive difference to comfort.
Bar width, not so much. Anything between 710-785 feels fine, as long as the sweep, rotation, and height/reach is ok.

I’ll experiment. Felt like my hands were unnaturally twisted inward
-
• #13109
Do they have a massive sweep to them then?
Double check where your brakes are too. I had to point my brakes to the floor before they started feeling comfortable and reduce dodgy wrist angle.

Elbows bent, or straight arms?
Do you ride flat bars/riser on any other bike? Some people just don't get on with 'normal' bars, and end up adding to Jeff Jones's retirement fund

I had to point my brakes to the floor
Not advisable for MTBs. It rotates your weight further forward, thus increasing risk of going OTB.

Bent, otherwise I feel like I'm on a dutch town bike.
And no, last time I rode fixed gear I had a langster with risers and I sold the whole bike because the bars hurt my wrists... -

Also, if you can slide the grips inboard, that's an easy experiment to try.

Or up your wrist strength training regime.

• #13115
Arguably a 'better' way of learning how to jump as you're forced to be smooth.

9 degree back sweep
6 degree upsweep -

Got this covered

Really? I was reading a lot about rotating them forward to avoid wrist pain, due to compression when your hands/wrists/forearms aren’t straight because your wrist is dropped. To the floor may be an exaggeration, but I needed them rotated to keep my wrists at the correct angle.

Mmm... I suppose I should have just ordered forks from PX with everything else the last two orders. Not sure there will be cheaper options than On-One?

because your wrist is dropped.
This actually helps. Your wrist drops, this leads to your elbows dropping, which carries on through the arm and into the torso. Same with your legs: drop your heels, bend your knees. Net result, your centre of gravity drops and is more "in" the bike, rather than above it. All helps with stability when riding off road. See also: longer, slacker, lower...

Tell that to the aches and numbness I had prior...!

Everything that weird Giant dirt biek thing aint!

• #13123
I think it ticks the "low" box.

• #13124
It’s just... I... I felt that hipster was too commercial y’know?
-

It ticks the "Help! My biek is melting!" box.
Stick rigid forks on that. Will be a lot better, those RSTs must weight a ton.
