Sorry - you probably don't want loads of tips but I'll do it anyway -

I'd get off a stop earlier and head up the bridleway from Westhumble to Ranmore. It's quite a crank to the top, but lots nicer than the road. Can also grab a flapjack from the lovely pilgrim cycles at the station (opens at 10am).

Yep I'll take them up this way don't worry.

The ride back to Westhumble from Dorking is only about ten mins anyway.
