Boobies berverley hills innit?

Yeah, I am regularly punting money across using that feature and it's fine. Euro transfers to other euro accounts are quite quick.

The classier choice!
@user800813590210 Yeah I was surprised it worked so smoothly. So you know how the two currency account works on Revolut, so say I have nothing in the GBP account and the Euro account is topped up and I use the card in the UK. It'll take the money out of that but charge the relevant exchange rate right?
Or do I have to move money from Euro to GBP and apply the exchange rate before use? -
• #280
The former.
-
• #281
Yes, it takes it from whatever account you have money in.

Perfection.
Enjoying Revolut now as it's quite seamless and relatively intuitive from a moneyphobe's perspective.
The amount of facilities available does make it more useful than Monzo too. -

I don't think I've used mine since TCR. I keep upgrading the app but haven't looked at it.

Pretty much exactly what I did for a year, but I'm moving back to the U.K for a while so thought I'd give it another shot. It's been pretty great so far. Customer service at 2am? No problem.

• #285
I've never used them. Just pay, topup, pay. It just works.

Monzo doing a round of crowd funding investment early Dec. Anyone buying in?
-
• #287
Bloody stupid duplicate posting
-
• #288
I was going to ask about that. If I had any money I would, seems a good bet.
-
• #289
It's limited to 2k and I could go in but I have a lot to buy for the new house and don't really want to dip into any savings right now so I'm undecided

If anyone wants to sign up to monzo I’ve got a link that gives you a free £10. Not sure if it’s a one-use thing or anything but here it is...

Looking to move my current account from Lloyds to either Monzo, Starling or Revolut, there are things I like about all three, Like the app from Monzo, like the free foreign exchange stuff from Starling would like the extras you get with Revolut Premium ie the travel insurance, although haven't used Revolut for a few years is there app any good?
-
• #292
I really like the app. Super easy to do everything that I use it for. I don't have the premium account and only use mine for holidays.

Pretty sure Revolut aren't offering full accounts in the UK yet (they've only recently got their banking licence so they're gradually rolling it out).
-
• #294
I was reading that they did from here https://blog.revolut.com/introducing-revolut-current-accounts/
-
• #295
This is what I saw recently https://blog.revolut.com/we-got-a-banking-licence/ and it seems that without that they can't do certain stuff like UK direct debits. Not entirely sure.

Strange, will do some more research

in the app I can see a sort code and account number which seems to suggest you have a current account but a quick search of that sort code comes up with 'Prepay Technologies Ltd' in Swindon which suggests they have allocated a 'Virtual' account to enable card payments (as revolut is still currently only a prepay cash card effectively)
Once current accounts are rolled out and they begin using an agency bank proper I would expect those accounts to change.
Monzo are full current account and one im going to make the switch to for my monthly banking (DD's, STO's, larger payments.) while I still use revolut for my small purchases and anything abroad in the types of places where card fraud often happen. Cafes restaurants, shops etc.
This means I can keep a smallish balance on my revolut card and if fraudsters clone it, it will limit my exposure. Meanwhile my normal salary is safe with Monzo (TSB currently)
I like using revolut this way because it rounds up my transactions then x3 into a separate pot and I dont miss that much. Ive almost got £500 sitting there as a small saving pot which I haven't really missed. once I hit 500 ill transfer it elsewhere to actually grow and start again.
Monzo do similer but no x3 multiplier which I have asked for them to do.
I haven't investigated starling too heavily yet. I already have waaaay too many current accounts really.

Also, my better half and I just moved in together. Shes not been a customer of Monzo previously. for her to join get all her details was minutes. Then for us to set up a joint account was similar. its just so much easier than any of the other options.
Contrast that with Halifax where we popped in on a saturday to try do the same as we both have HBOS accounts so thought it would be easy to just get a joint account. We were asked to make an appointment for during the week or a few weekends time and bring a mountain of paperwork to do so.

Monzo have obviously become big enough now for competitors to start taking potshots at them, I've been seeing tube adverts recently for Viola Black saying "Move over Monzo" (although it seems they're not actually a bank so who knows what they actually offer).

That's a good idea - thanks. I've been needing a joint account for a long time but my wife and I have never been able to both get into a bank for an appointment with all the necessary paperwork.
I never thought about using Monzo for it instead.
How does a joint show in the app?
Just tried. Doesn't seem to be. I quite like what premium gives you though. Higher withdrawals and medical insurance are really tempting.
@user800813590210 (boobless?) I just moved some cash from a Euro account to Revolut. Took about 24hrs, but it was a doddle. Just between apps.
