  • Is that the descent into Abinger hammer? I've not done that route. Is it good?

    I'd normally drop down earlier from the ridge to park farm, then along the valley, over white down lane and through the Abinger roughs before linking up with your route.

    I'm thinking of doing something in the North Downs next weekend. I have the Saturday available (notionally for the hard day in Jan, but it's been so dry the woods are calling!)

  • it's a good route if like me you don't know lots of the little hidden paths and stuff etc

    I think the descent from 7.6km to 9.0km is really great, so steep and fun.
    sadly can't spare both days next weekend, have a good time.
