open to that, this is for people like me who gotta stare at a GPS to get their way round dorking countryside. there's only one downhill section near the start you gotta keep

Is that the descent into Abinger hammer? I've not done that route. Is it good?
I'd normally drop down earlier from the ridge to park farm, then along the valley, over white down lane and through the Abinger roughs before linking up with your route.
I'm thinking of doing something in the North Downs next weekend. I have the Saturday available (notionally for the hard day in Jan, but it's been so dry the woods are calling!)

There is? Looks like the climb up Ranmore road - unless you are going the wrong way round
