So, I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread that you weren't entering this year. That definitely the case?
-
• #134
I’m in too
-
• #135
You still the youngest? If not you can concentrate on the burger title :)
-
• #137
I don't have a bike either and I'm supposed to be racing around NL in May. #whatmeworry
Only got the 4S 3 weeks before the first one. You'll be fine :)
Does your budget include bike? There was a Polish guy doing it super cheap a few years ago wasn't there? -
• #138
I literally don’t have a good bike and I’m in Australia. I’ve got a shit bike where the rear wheel rubs against the chainstays that’d I’d only go down to the local pub on.
Budget doesn’t include a bike but I’m hoping to borrow for this.

A chance for the least training record also?
I did it on the Steamroller with secondhand 1x6 gears and mostly cheap parts too though, it's not about the bike and it's lighter to not have much.
I'm in too.

- I think.
I’ve got loads of bike parts if you need any.
- I think.

I’m Australia
No, I'm Australia.
Suggest you get your lazy arse off the beach, start picking some grapes and buy yourself a new race bike :P

Same.
Most are in pieces, scattered around London's junctions. :S -

@hippy @skinny thanks very much guys - will probably be in contact closer to the time.
@samuli it could be. The previous TCRs I’d only riden about 2000km (including commutes) in the year before but this year will be exceptionally low. The only difference is that I’m doing a load of running and I’m certainly the fittest I’ve ever been.

Great to see so many people on here (back) in.
@bananaskid, I thought you might be going for a cheeky IndyPac as a warm-up ride, but sounds like not. Whereabouts in Aus are you? -
• #145
Yeah look forward to meeting and racing you guys. I’m going to look at flights and try arrange babysitting cover this weekend.
What will your kid cover be @frank9755?
-
• #146
@frank9755 I didn’t know it was taking place? Or has it evolved into an unofficial event?
I’m in Melbourne so will probably just cheer the riders on as they cycle through.

as a fellow new dad, would also like to know.
i've had a week sanctioned to ride the faultline already though, so maybe i should just be grateful for that and bide my time...

Before I entered I had a discussion with my wife. She was happy for me to do it - if she had any reservations, I'd have dropped the idea.
My parents are up for coming down. But they are getting on a bit, so the other option is to combine that with some early-evening help from the people at my daughters' nursery. They are generally up for baby-sitting and my daughter knows them already, so she should be comfortable with them.
Don't read this next para if you don't have children
My big fear is that my daughter gets annoyed with me for being away for an extended period, which she may well do (also a bit worried about missing out on a couple of weeks of her growing up). But my wife has a couple of business trips to Europe coming up, so we'll see how she reacts to those first! -

Yes, it ran unofficially last year and will do again. As well as the insta stuff there's a facebook group here:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1827536454226495/I'd be well wary of riding any significant amount on roads around Melbourne as the driving got worse the further East I got, but the off-road stuff there looks fabulous. Jesse and Sarah seem to go off camping every weekend and post some great photos
