My Sealskins finally died, got bought some Altura waterproof gel jobbies for Xmas and possibly for the first time ever, my hands were actually warm in winter. Warm, and sweaty.

Been using these for a couple of years. With the exception of hours of cold rain, I think they're great for <5°. A bit bulky for pocket fiddling but excellent otherwise.

That’s perverse.

Those shower proof are they any better than the Sealskin knitted jobs?

Just ordered them today waiting for them to arrive but read the review
The writer says "I've worn these in sustained torrential rain, and when I got home five hours later my hands were totally dry inside".

I have these in orange
Seem ok in wet but I had cold hands in about 0 degrees this morning on short ride to school drop off and back -

I've got these gloves and the holes where the stitching comes apart just add character.

They're cheap and have lasted a few years. I don't like the gripper stuff and they don't work with phones are the two biggest issues I have but then neither do my RABs or my older Alturas.

These Craft gloves have been my favourites for many years but are on their last legs. Looks like they’ve been discontinued. Anyone know which one in their range is the replacement? The Shield 2.0 looks different, it might be the Shelter or Touring.

Can confirm that the Dissent 133 gloves are amazing

Anyone have a recommend on these recent posts for something that stops my thumbs going completely numb? Getting to the point where am considering wrapping them in cling-film or something. Have tried sealskinz, castelli, rapha, various planet-x/carnac, evans, nike running things, layers and only those lobster-mitt things work for a bit - but after an hour in real cold it's painful / something like Raynaud syndrome numbness where it's almost to hard to shift gear.
NB: Old man with probably poor circulation. -

FWIW my girlfriend has poor circulation in her fingers/hands. She was given some medication (forgot the name tho) and had to put her hands in cold/warm water alternating every evening which helped a lot.

Thanks all for suggestions, will try a few things out. Rode in wearing some carnac lobsters that have been lurking at the back of the draw. Was better-ish but just can’t get on with the whole claw thing...

As above, have you addressed cause rather than symptom?

Not yet, going to look into that next :)

Ensure your arms are well insulated. Try some additional arm warmers underneath your existing layers. Give your hands a regular shake during your rides to get that blood flowing.

Will also try, cheers :)

Might be super basic but how tight are your (many) gloves? A bit of extra bulk and space of material around your fingers is necessary otherwise the gloves won't do their job. If your serious winter gloves are nice and form fitting chances are they are too tight, you need circa ~5mm of padding. Apolz if you already knew this

I bought some bar mitts and they are amazing. I never wear gloves now.
I'm still using these cheapies for commutes:

I don't like them but I can't throw them away with only one hole in them...
