Guess not. Good result for competition's sake.

1.21 cm !
3 or 4 goal line clearances from citeh, could so easily have had a few with a bit of the luck we've had in recent games
i think klopp made a mistake not starting fab3, his passing was what liverpool needed all game, decisive forward and creative, he looked a spark when he came on, i guess it's just a little early in his liverpool career for klopp to trust him completely in a game like this, the starting three did so well at the start of the season, i guess klopp wanted more of thatfa cup game next to help us forget then onto brighton for a tonking hopefully to get it out of our system, gutted to have lost but i would have taken the current table at the start of the season

Lovren: ‘invincibles...why not?’
OK! Chickens and all that.

And breathe. Best game I've been to in some time. Van Dijk is pretty good isn't he. Salah is no Aguero and Fernandinho is the dog's.

Fernandinho was class last night, when he's like that city are really hard to beat. Tough intense game, I thought Liverpool had a few players not at their best and it really shows against a team that good.
Fine margins and all that -

Liverpool fans - if they didn't exist, you'd have to invent them.

I don’t remember them complaining too much in 2005.

re Abraham chat from a few pages back - I can't believe Chelsea will sell him for £18m - seems like peanuts for a 21 yr old English player who is top scorer in the championship. He's on to score close to 30 this season as he only kicked on under Smith's reign.
Apparently, his head has been turned by the interest though and Chelsea have till mid Jan to trigger the recall clause so we shall see... -

Well Bournemouth have just bought Dominic Solanke from Liverpool for £19m, so Tammy Abraham could be a bit of a steal.

Sancho effect? Stupid money for a player who’s shown very little.
Abraham has at least scored some goals and there are PL clubs desperate for strikers so £30 might be conservative.

ta ru if the papers are right wolves want him, I love to see him back at the bridge but not sure he fits in Sariball, hold up play bring others in and all that.
Good luck for the promotion push would like to see villa back up. -

If Spurs get an 8th goal now, does that mean they win the league or just keep the pressure on? Surely that goal difference in the cup counts towards something.

33 goals in 33 days!
Not sure why Kane came on when we’re 6-0 up and have a semi final on Tuesday.
Glad to see us putting a lower league team to the sword and avoiding all thoughts of an upset early doors..Not sure tranmere appreciated the fact we kept scoring, when other teams would have turned off after 2 or 3.

Fulham, Cardiff and Huddersfield all free to concentrate on league survival now. Guess Soton/Burnley/Newcastle all want a cup run to distract them.

Arsene knows.
sane and sterling were both incredible
Liverpool a bit unlucky with a few clearances off the line but generally thought they lacked a bit of quality to win
