  • Have got the LG bar connected atm, certainly better than the normal speakers. Was more whether they'll be much between that and Sonos or whether I'm paying more for the smart features

  • I guess it depends on what bar you got... But apparently Sonos is amazing. Plus layer you can buy more really expensive Sonos speakers to pair with it. Which would be recommended I guess.

Edit : no idea as I don't have a Sonos... But my missus is uber eager too so If I am, I might as well drag everyone with me.

  • Speak to @mashton he has skin in the Sonos game!

  • Thanks guys on the chromecast audio recommendation.

Dad is so happy with it!

  • One of the biggest things was to keep it simple - no phone calls for me!

He can now listen to music while he's cooking through the stereo in the kitchen/diner. My mother loves it as she now has no peace at all.

The quality through his stereo is pretty impressive too!

  • taking apart a little pair of Creative laptop speakers, the plan is to make a new casing/front for them. question is, do i need to include the tube thing leading to the hole at the top? presumably so.

I've taken his silence as tacit approval (along with @ChainBreaker ) and put an order in. What's the worse that could
    happen*?

(*I like it, fall into the trap and end up with two play 1's to bulk out the TV, Play 5's in the lounge, kitchen, bedroom, office, and bread and water for the rest of the year)

  • You mother loves it for no peace? As in now has peace?

  • Sorry sarcasm! Now he can cook and listen to the music - from his iPad (to the stereo) he has it on all the time!

  • This is what I'll probably end up with myself at some point.

  • You have done the right thing, the Sonos is amazing.

Apologies for the silence. Today I have mostly been dislocating my shoulder, hanging under a helicopter, having an opiate comedown and shaking a lot.

  • Know what you mean

  • Today I have mostly been dislocating my shoulder, hanging under a helicopter, having an opiate comedown and shaking a lot.

    Wow. In that order?

  • Sounds like a skiing accident! Hope you're OK. Mashton!

  • Ouch! Get well @mashton

Dibs on your hifi if you don’t :p

  • Yeah I fell over on skis.

    Bummer.

  • Shit. Hope you're okay! Something similar happened to my dad in 2010 but he got taken down in a blood wagon. He broke a vertabrae, his collarbone, femur and nine ribs. Sounds like you got off lightly! The thought of hanging from a helicopter makes me shake a lot.

I knew it! This is what happens when you go teetotal. You've been warned...

    GWS dude

  • Ouch! What a pisser. Get well soon.

  • bugger. i just missed a michell gyro on ebay for 535

  • Redecorating lounge and replacing the existing hif rack. Anyone interested in an Isoblue 60 in black ash? Base plus three levels, great condition, £450

  • I have to use a step down transformer for my amp as it's from Japan but it hums noticeably. Anyone in the same situation and can recommend a transformer that's silent?

  • Look what I just got:
