I emailed a complaint to the bus operator regarding one of their busses pulling out in front of me. I also requested the cctv footage under GDPR rules. This is the response I got:

I am writing in relation to an incident you reported to us involving a
bus operating the number 10 service. You have made a subject access
request for the CCTV, I am sorry to have to inform you that
unfortunately the recording unit on the bus was faulty so no footage
is available.

Seems convenient for them they can say the unit was faulty. Maybe it was or maybe wasn’t. I will never know.

Thanks for passing within an inch of me on Old Kent Road on my way home on Tuesday evening. I suppose it was wrong of me to pull over and let the ambulance pass. And my sheer gaul at making every effort to make it very clear I was moving out well well ahead of you to pass the slower cyclist up the road must have really slowed you down.

I hope you and your family really enjoy the notice of inteded prosecution you're recieving this christmas!

Roadsafe ask you to remove the video from social media etc when they take action, might be worth taking it down until after they’ve had a chance to persue it.

Wouldn’t want to risk them not being able to go after the guy.

When I reported recently the police were quite happy for the footage to be up and public on youtube.

Yeah I can’t see an issue.
If it getting a little publicity prompts then police to actually do something then all the better.

i hate this bit of powerscroft road, i don't think there's space for someone to overtake safely whilst also keeping clear of the door zone. that's why my positioning is aggressive.

Only just saw this. As someone partly responsible for that contraflow being there, I agree that the current layout is far from ideal--it should be fully two-way. However, we (LCC in Hackney) were facing the prospect of TfL forever blocking the changes necessary at the Lower Clapton Road junction for full two-way, so reluctantly said Hackney officers should proceed. It's very interesting that the driver didn't seem to grasp the concept of the contraflow. Glad nothing serious happened and there was a reasonable judicial outcome.

Heh, the BMW driver was probably just trying to save the honour of drivers after you dropped the Volvo like a sack of spuds. :)

fucking hell, rewatching it, I hadn't noticed the white bmw first drives around the width restriction on the wrong side of the road to jump the queue of cars slowing for it, jams into the queue of cars as traffic approaches, then overtakes at least 2 cars on the wrong side of the road again with oncoming traffic before nearly smashing @skinny

that's proper chased by a police helicopter on a shitty cop reality show level of driving

Yeah I was just in shock when I watched the video back.

There’s roadworks outside my house at a junction so they’ve closed off the road in one direction.
Instead of diverting, drivers are constantly going down the wrong side of the road and hopping through the red lights.
Obviously they’re now doing this at speed to beat the oncoming traffic and getting honked at whilst doing it. Feels like a crash waiting to happen.
If I filmed and reported it, what would happen. There’s about a driver a minute atm.

Recived a email to say they’ve sent NIP to the driver of the Bmw.

But if it's so common maybe the council need to be told or whoever is doing the work so they can create a better diversion or make it harder for people to be wankers.

I roadsafed a driver entering an ASL, just to see whether it's worth it.
The responder said even though it shows the violation they would not pursue it as the chance of prosecution was so low. Presumably it's very easy to argue in court.

Also roadsafed an impatient delivery driver drive two wheels down about 20 metres of pavement to jump a queue. Same answer. This time I guess it would be hard to press the company to tell them who the driver was.

I never saw the video for this. Did you take it down for due legal process reasons?
