This looks sick!
I'm a fan of the external top-tube routing. There's something cool about it on a cross-ish bike.

Have been fettling with this now for awhile. Will fettle some more when the other carbon bits arrive.

Noted. I’ll see how it goes for a while.
Still need bigger cassette and few little finishing bits like better brake adapter -

Very nice, what else are you waiting on?

Looking forward to getting this under way.

I’m waiting on the above bits pictured. :)
But am looking at building a carbon wheelset for summertime club rides so looking into Light Bicycle rims on some second hand CK hubs.

Nice! What's your plan for the build?
-
• #122059
Keep it fairly classic looking really. I don’t have a huge amount of spare cash to drop in it. It’ll have these wheels for every day runaround duties, and I’ll try and find some nicer wheels for the odd occasion it makes it to the track.

Make sure to post it in the Donohue thread when you're done! It looks a lot like my 853 Donohue. Similar, if not identical geo and the paintjob is pretty similar as well. It's been my favourite bike for years, hope you enjoy this as much.

Excited to see this! Road fixed?

Perfect weather for a first ride! Chain could stand to lose a link or two and the FD cable is a touch slack but other than that it’s golden. Some bits I’ve had for a while and grown to love include cane creek levers and fizik bars, suntour sprint shifters, hoary old b17, and the long arm of the law that is the 105 5800 front derailer. Shifting feels so good I wish it was a triple so I could do it more. Fenders are on the docket, but that’ll wait till spring since this bike won’t see too many winter miles.

It’s actually already in that thread via it’s previous owner, looking pretty slick. I’ll whack it up when I’m done too.
This one is Columbus Thron. I’m keen to get it rolling to see what it’s like! -

Yes, I am very lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world.

And where might that be? If you don't mind me asking of course.

Not at all, I live in Peebles in the Scottish boarders. As an outdoors person and mountain biker there can’t be many better places to live in my opinion.

Scottish boarders
So you failed to repel them, despite the constant admonitions to prepare?

Haha! 😂
The 33 is not certain to work with all cranks without some #judiciousfiling on the spider tabs to clear the chain.
