congratulations! You may find that your long distance running improves. Those long runs suddenly become that much more peaceful and enjoyable.
There is a definite tipping point though - I think with my first I could run unhindered, but then when the twins came along, I had about 6 months of carrying on as before, and then my performance started to take a dive.
YMMV of course

Thanks everyone!
@doubleodavey YMMV?
2018 highlights - enjoying running again from August through to December, including 16.06 5k pb and some good x country.
2019 targets - continue enjoying running, including VMLM and then hopefully some fell stuff in the summer (but I say that every year!).
And I agree @nefarious - this thread is great, uniformly welcoming, positive and full of good advice.
I'm not going to hit this year's arbitrary mileage target. There was an early new arrival on Sunday, which has destroyed all Christmas training and racing plans. We didn't tell anyone what was happening so I had to fit a run in during labour - not running on a Saturday would have given the game away!
I am very pleased to have joined the dad running contingent and looking forward to seeing how it affects marathon training.
