I have one of these that I use for syncing to photographs to add a location. Does the job pretty well but sometimes seems to be an hour out (to do with daylight saving maybe), easy enough to fix though.

I once saw a little nubbin that attached to a pannier braze on and would take a light that would normally attach to a seat post. A bit like the Paul mount but for a rear light. Does anyone know where I could find one? Hoping that I can put my light low enough that it's visible from beneath my carradice

What Carradice do you have?
Why not just use a clip on light, one like below works really well on my saddle bags. Put it on the metal logo, not the strap which is sewn on too low for my liking.

Got the super c audax, it basically points the light at the ground if I clip into the strap and it's good a leather logo not metal

Mm, too bad. I would try and rig something up on the D rings but you probably use them too? Otherwise it's pretty straight forward to figure out a mount for a small bar on which to put a clamp-on light. Ideally a tube with one solid end (and a bolt-sized hole in that end) would work best. Either plastic or alu, though a dowel could easily be made to work.

Mebbe some cheap bmx foot pegs?
Or if you happen to have the tube from an old minoura space mount?
Section of handlebar with expanding plug?
Et cetera. -

No way of using some wide velcro to rig something up?

Thank you for the advice on wiring a plug! Gonna swap the fuses and job should be a good ‘un.
It’s always had a 3A fuse because the plug is the original one and it broke in a funny way... Apparently this happens quite often when the screws get tightened too much... but like I said, it’s never been replaced... 🤷🏻♀️
And this is from a Cambridge Audioamplifier that was bought in summer 2014 but it has no earth wire... the guys for the DIY shop said it can still normal for modern appliances to have no earth wire... dunno...
Guess I am not going to cut the wires again since they are fine and it’s the plug that broke...

I'd say the majority of small appliances not containing heating elements since the 1980s are likely to be double insulated and don't require an earth connection. Anything with a Telefunken figure-8 connector on the other end of the cable will be in this category, as will anything with a permanently attached 2-core flex. The square-in-a-square symbol next to the inlet plug here is the double-insulation mark.

OTOH, a lot of Cambridge stuff uses 3-pin IEC mains connectors and should have a 3-core flex with an earth wire, as they don't seem to be double insulated.

As tester said, it’s common for some newer appliances to go without earth. Grab any of your smartphone wall plugs, stuff like that, and you’ll see it’s plastic. They run relatively low volt, low current unless they’re a ‘fast’ charger.

Not sure exactly what you mean. My light does at least have a clip.
I was thinking of something like this:

But maybe I could try using one of the giant safety pins I have.. -

Velcro is quite strong and solid once attached to itself, especially under tension. Depends exactly where you wanted the light, but I meant with a couple of loops you could position and clip the light almost anywhere. Maybe I’m visualising your setup wrong though.

How tall is your seat tube? Can you not strap the light under the binder, peering out between the seat stays?
-

I had a go but whilst I could fit the mount in there, there wasn't enough clearance to slot the light in. I'll take some pics when I'm back home from winter holiday period.
I feel like everyone has this problem with carradice bags. They should just make the whole top lid out of molle webbing.

Any ideas how remove this topcap? Is there a bolt hidden beneath a blanking cap?

Aha. It was magnet stuck on with double sided tape. Regular top cap underneath

Anybody used those puncture protection strips off ebay? Planning to go in the scrapyard bmx so weight penalty isn’t an issue.

Found this on my downtube.
What the best way to tackle it before it eats through? Wire brush then apply something?
