  • Utd went short term trophy hunting and everyone knew it wasn’t going to end well..
No. They went for a big name who could command more signings and help deliver short term success.
In the meantime the long term projects of City and Liverpool blossomed. While Chelsea, who are experts in short term success over a long period of time (before Clive gets upset) (i.e. they manage to recruit successful manage to manage over a 3 year cycle) have continued to deliver.

Jose was the wrong manager at the wrong time at the wrong club.
United need to focus on the football and not the branding partnership league. Which is something I think Spurs are second in.

  • I think Corny is basically right, tho the honourable waffle is just fanciful. Pooch has won nothing in this country and, as ManU is a long term project, Spuds offer the greatest chance for him to lay down a marker. If he wins one of the cups this season tho he might just go for a bigger club.

  • happy for Utd. Why they ever fell for that toxic ego is a mystery. If Utd approach Poch he will be very tempted and like every manager in the game he knows Spurs would have no hesitation in sacking him if results went bad for two months. He could turn utd down and be out of a job at spurs within three months and have missed his one and only chance to manage one of the worlds greatest clubs ever.

  • Surely the most important barometer of success for United these days is their share price.

  • If I had to guess, I suspect there's every chance Poch will go to Man U as their next but one manager in 2-3 seasons time.

ATM Spurs are a fair way ahead of them in terms of sustained quality performance and in an exciting new club development phase and significantly closer to challenging for the PL. IMO an experienced manager will come in and use Man Us enormous resources and pulling power to get the club up to that level (nailed on Top 4 poss challenging for league within 2-3 seasons) at which time the promise of untold riches and the draw of managing one of the world's superclubs may be too much to resist - and who could (not me) blame him? I'm a Spurs fan btw

  • This.
    And instagram followers.

  • If I had to guess....

    Nah.

  • It's funny cause laurent blanc wikipedia french page says he is Man U manager

    edit: now removed

  • Football is mostly about the money until it isn’t.
I’m not saying pochettino won’t leave ever, but right now there are too many things coming to fruition for it to be a good time, just because Man U have decided jose’s Tactics don’t fit.
And the Man U job, like the Real Madrid job, like the PSG job, will come round again because they will fire managers at will, because what they deem to be success hasn’t been achieved.

I don’t think Man Utd currently offer the sheriff anything more than he has built at Tottenham.

  • Yeah they can look at pochettino and his record in coaching up young players, but they brought in mourinho who had none of that, and never wanted any of that, because they wanted to win trophies, anyway he could, until he couldn’t, and the team felt like it was stagnating, and he asked for more money to fix a team that he’d spent money breaking..

  • My point (perhaps better made) exactly

  • stevie g is doing well at rangers

  • so long thrushy don't let the door hit you on the way out
hopefully thats the last we'll see of him in the uk..... unless sarri fucks up

  • I think this is the last of Jose at a last 16 big cup team.
The demographics of those teams don't suit him. He needs a rest, he needs a younger coaching team to connect with the Instagram generation players, he needs to be at a real underdog club again.

  • can't argue with that.
Spurs and Poch have done well the last 2 seasons & getting the ground sorted (yeah I know it's late but give me a house extension that didn't go late by a a day or two )
it's all down to the board and if Poch feels they back him and the "project" works for him.
Und will def be putting out the feelers tho.

  • Inter or AC Milan will most likely be looking for a new manager before the season finishes. They'll hire him thinking he'll bring back the glory years, forgetting that even Italian football has moved on from his staid brand of football.

  • Levi needs money more than anything else right now, getting Pochettino off the wage bill, plus a decent wedge in compensation will be very, very tempting.

  • I can't imagine pochettino would be able to walk away from working with lamela

  • I dunno - Smalling and Jones are pretty compelling...

  • You knows it!
Who wouldn’t want to work with the skilful, hard working Argentinian prodigy.

  • A player who wants to win trophies during their short career?

  • I was talking about Lamela.

  • Good day to watch Early Man.
