It is not just Chelsea but Arsenal and Tottenham and probably West Ham too. The use of the "y-word" in reference to Tottenham is pretty much the limit of it although back in the 1970s and 1980s it was more prevalent and probably worse. Certainly Arsenal had a very nasty song about Auchwitz.
I have challenged peple. Tere was someone who sat next to me for years. One day he went into a rant about "y**s". I challenged him and asked if he was referring to tottenham and if he was why not just say so. He told me he hated Jewish people. I pointed out that Abramovich was Jewish. He was shocked. others around us confirmed that that was the case. He left and never came back. His seat was empty for the rest of the season.
Around where i sit there is not so much organised chanting and so the issue is not around us but more in the MHL.
And, yes, I have reported racist remarks to the club as well and they were acted upon. I have reported homophobic remarks to Kick It Out and I was ignored.
