Out of all of this, the reinstatement of

It's a Parliamentary convention that suspended members of a party are allowed back for important votes relating to leadership etc.

meaning just 60 backbenchers supported her despite her pledge to stand down before the '22 GE.

Would those on the payroll have been sacked if May went?

I’ve heard this payroll/not payroll distinction a couple of times now but have no idea what it refers to... anyone care to explain?

I guess this refers to people who get paid extra (above mp base salary) for doing particular jobs like organising committees etc?
