  • I'm going to start looking...

  • if u want me to put out feelers here in HK just pm me I'll do what I can :)

  • Fuck yeah!

  • Come to Oz, the weather's lovely... The kids will love it...

  • The latest Lord Ashcroft poll seems to show that a second referendum wouldn't be that unpopular an option:

    https://lordashcroftpolls.com/2018/12/what-should-happen-next-what-really-matters-and-how-bad-is-this-crisis-my-new-brexit-deal-poll/

  • It seems the frying pan of reality still hasn't hit the leave voters.

"leave with no deal" followed by "the EU won't really..." followed by the frying pan of reality leading to "oh, ups, no definitely nothing to do with me" ?

  • The last few days have been a right laugh while hosting my wife's father, who is an amalgamation of every Brexit-supporting cliche you could imagine.

"I voted for it, but didn't think it would happen"
    "I'm reclaiming our sovereignty"
    "Remainers are attacking democracy"
"Remainers are traitors to their country"
"The EU are an unelected dictatorship"

I sat and patiently listened while this was shouted at me for pretty much a solid 48hrs because I wasn't allowed to voice any opinion on any of it, as he took it as a "vitriolic attack against the will of the people"

I just resorted to saying "let's see what happens tomorrow" which actually has been way more entertaining

  • your house, your rules, shirley?

  • my wife's father

    harsh

  • Tell him to sleep in the garden - you held a vote and he lost, which means you don't have to listen to him.

Edit: or show him the Brexit Bingo card you just completed with all of his utterances.

  • Weird I was round me mams on sunday and every politics show on the bbc was giving lots of air time to people who were adamant no one in the uk wanted that at all. anyone who suggested otherwise got talked over by the presenters.

  • could there be a kick off and riots like 2011

I think that's unlikely. A second ref with a narrow remain might cause some grief, but the big cities are heavily remain and the leave demographic is mostly older and in the country. Wouldn't be pretty though. There would be very angry letters to the Express and Telegraph.
Otherwise if we get to March and it's looking no-deal-y then I imagine there might be more marches etc. but can't see violence at this stage...

  • No-one got clubbed. 2/10 for effort.

  • "Remainers are traitors to their country"

I just don't understand this one. but it's rolled out by some did he give reasons or was it just sound bite shouting.

  • if that's so, perhaps the question should then be,

'so what are you, personally, going to do about all these traitors?'

  • Sorry "dad" but in a referendum between my wife and I the results came out 52/48* in favour of making you sleep in the shed.

"But you plastered the house with posters saying you're spending £3.50 a day on milk and teabags for me which you're going to spend on a box of lemsip and some paracetamol in case you get the flu, when that's false, you already spent that money on tea and milk for yourself and were receiving lovely hot cups of tea as a result, my sleeping in the shed bears almost no relation to that at all, it's just fake news, we need another vote with clear and fair explanations of our options"

Sorry but it's the will of the people, it's time to take back control.

"but there's no toilet out there, where will I poo"

I know it's not ideal, but we figured for the time being you'll just have to make do with an emergency backstop for any exports.

*within the expected variance of such a widespread poll

  • im a rat who jumped ship on the day of the result. double traitor

  • Haha, Yes!

Then insist on posing for all family photos with a pint of flat, brown ale and a wonky smile.

  • the leave demographic is mostly older and in the country.

There's quite a lot of young, working-class leave voters too. The likelihood of riots will probably depend what time of year it happens.

  • Plus all the usual mob that turn out whenever there's a sniff of some violence and vandalism, regardless of cause or beliefs.

  • the government spent £96,684 on Facebook ads promoting May's deal

    Meanwhile, at the local foodbank...

  • The latest Lord Ashcroft poll seems to show that a second referendum wouldn't be that unpopular an option

If there aren't journalists out there right now trying to speak to Brenda from Bristol they're doing it wrong.
