Dropped off the Volvo at a tiny Volvo & Saab specialist in Leyton. I'd only had enough time to have a coffee and bagel before they called me to say the slave cylinder had gone, they've ordered the (genuine Volvo) parts, and it should be ready tomorrow, £200.
Husband and wife team, 1 ramp, some classic scooters in there, and a 5cyl engine on a hoist, seems like a great little place.
I'm very glad this place is just 20 mins from my flat, makes my life much easier.

That's incredibly good news, if they're good with these cars.

After over heating the thing on the motorway and leaking oil EVERYWHERE, we finally got to Warsaw, some snow drifts happened (in a private car park...), some understeer happened and some dents happened. Should pop out though. Pre bump.

I really want a 126 again now. Shame they’re so spendy these days. I’d love a tarmac rally spec one.

Just get a citigo and pretend it's a 126.

some dents happened
Ahem. Patina. Not dents. Dents are for old scrappers.
Sounds like fun. Enjoy.

This is why i love this forum

Sounds perfect. I found a similar place in Hackney when I had a Polo. Two Turkish dudes, super friendly, well priced and offered tea every time I was there

I know where there is a full rally spec citigo for sale with Ohlins suspension on and everything....

Why did ir over heat?
Headgasket don't last long if they over heat.

You can borrow the Panda if you promise to throw it in with your next respray job.

This the place on Grange Park Rd? Very interested to hear how it goes with them. I want the front backing plates replaced on my V50. My usual garage only ordered the rear ones and was very uninterested in finishing that job.

Thanks very much, we'll need it!

Lemme know if you need on bringing over for less than uk value.

Yeah, went well, they knew what they were doing, and a 24hr turn around.
Sounds like they really rely on long term customers so it's nice to be a new one.
Obviously this was quite a simple job but a good way of finding out their level.
Don't seem to be too much into the modded stuff, but I wouldn't use them for stuff that Tim would be better for.

I don't know that it did but it started leaking oil badly when I was sitting on the motorway not realising how fast I was going, apparently I was sitting at 110-130.

• #45421
Fucking hell. Mine doesn’t get over 70. Kmh
When I say doesn’t get I mean won’t go.
-
• #45422
My one dropped a valve at around 60mph on the motorway. They don’t like it.

Getting the car tomorrow... ✊

Borp borp!
Techscrew the surfboard to the roof racks, whack an Oakley sticker on the windscreen and a can bong under the seat and BOOM!

Anyone got a crimping tool that can handle 4 awg cable?
I span mine through 360 degrees in a side street in Winchester when it was icey - the back will come round with very little provocation if it's a bit slippy.
