What time is it? Watches and horology

Why does everyone ask that?! How are in reality supposed to know?!?

There are ways of telling, Google it... The fakes normally have plastic buckles...

I bought an f91w from a Casio boutique in Amsterdam and it had a plastic buckle.

buy an £8 bomber and the little finger on the buckle will snap the first time you put your hand in your pocket (as rare as that is for someone that wants to save £8.50 on a watch)

Anyway, occasionally topic of moody watches come up (and ppl snicker snicker say they may have one) but the moment it's an F91, you better watch out! Could be fake! Has plastic buckles!

Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, tide chart, funny graph to show air pressure (chance of rain) at a glance, a half dozen alarms, stopwatch, timer, and some other weird data stuff. The manual is something like 100 pages each language.

Slightly off-topic: Can anyone recommend a London jewellers who can re-size a gold ring?

Fucking hell , my spring bars are more money than that!!

I bet they're lovely spring bars. Nothing nicer than fitting a high quality spring bar to a watch...

Cheers @Aroogah and @spunk_nautical It's tempting but I think I'll hold off for the moment as I'm mainly looking for something slimmer that will go under a shirt cuff nicely. (Cheap, slimiline automatics seem thin on the ground so I'd starting looking at quartzes)

hmm still not sure about this 40, maybe should have bought 42. The only thing is, the 40 has lug-to-lug larger than any of my other watches at 49.5! The 42 goes to 51.5 and might cause over hang.

Can't go "try" them on as they are in HK...

Hmmm... Don't hold off for me. I'm keen but it's a watch I don't need, nor probably can afford. So tempted though. Good price as far as I can tell.
