Got my road bike back from service yesterday in preparation for bolting it to a trainer (sad face).
Ditched Brooks leather tape for Mash SF 'Noise'.Adam (Eldridge) is in town right now so it was nice for him to be able to see it at its best.

This looks rowdy. Full bike pics?

Cheers, I've had it for a while now but its appeal grows stronger all the time. Adam did a perfect job with the framebuild (custom-butted Columbus Life) and went the extra mile to smooth every TIG weld on it. Not a ripple or stipple anywhere.
This was when it was first built:
I didn't get on with the Cambium C13 Carved, so that's gone now. I did get around to buying bottle cages, I promise...

That's quite beautiful.

How do I shoehorn a 45mm guard into a fork crown that’s too narrow? Can I cut/dremel some semi-elipses out?
If so better to use VO stainless, alloy (with daruma) or SKS bluemel
-
• #121892
I've done it with all those materials.
It does shorten the life of the fender somewhat, but it's a compromise that's worth it to me. Try to make it so that there is a minimal of stress risers created by your cuts; round those edges. Stainless will likely last the longest, but honestly it's down to how careful the installation is. -

Prefect, thanks for advice. Will report back with results

No need for formality around here.

Don’t worry, I’ll be blaming you if I completely f*ck it up.

@Jingle_Jangle - This looks brilliant. Are these grand prix classic tyres? If so where did you get them? I've not seen them with the black and white logo before.

• #121897
Thanks. Yes they are Grand Prix Classics. They are the L'eroica addition, which I think may only be available at L'eroica.

Threw some parts on this while I'm waiting for my M6000 brakes to arrive:
This is the rear wheel with a flat 2.25" tyre mounted:
Looking at the shape och the chainstays in relation to the wheel (and the lack of tyre clearance) makes me think its a 26er frame :/So new wheel time

Are they those alpkit bars?
-
• #121900
Yep. I managed to score a pair before they sold out. Used them on my old Sunn before:
Decided I should probably get my CAAD4 ridable after being sat in the shed for a little while. I broke my foot a few months ago and riding fixed with clipless pedals really hasn't helped the healing process so went for flat pedals on the Cannondale. Anyone got reccomendations for mudguards?
