No doubt FX is a good money earner, but because I work for a competitor, I have a completely fee free account. So when I need to pay a foreign currency invoice on PayPal, I pay using my MasterCard from work, and PayPal give me the option of paying in original currency (thus forwarding the charge on to my card provider, which is 0 for me) or exchanging to my account currency with a charge levied. Obviously I always choose the former, and it should be possible, but maybe not in the traditional send money functionality, only in invoice payment.
Ugh, how annoying. So I really have to open an UK PayPal account even if Revolut has a British IBAN to avoid fees?
