• It's dependant on where your bank account/paypal account is registered. Any cross border/currency transactions will be charged a fee, regardless of where it's funded from-when I was in Germany I just opened a EUR paypal with my German bank acct.

    You could perhaps open a Transferwise open border bank account and use that to register a Paypal in your desired currency but don't know what proof they require for that.

  • As far as my experience tells me, yep. PayPal account stays linked to your original country/currency of origin.

    Maybe worth double checking direct with them but it seems a good money spinner for them to do it this way...
