cheap films are normally 1 to 1.5 stops slower than it says on the box.
good films are 0.5 stops slower to accurate.
if you want your pictures on negative film (not slide film) to look better, a very easy way is to shoot everything one stop over. you will get much better tonality. -

Is there an industry standard way of doing so ?
Every photographer I know writes it on the canister with a small permanent marker.

Don't push it.
You must be fun at parties.

It’s good to experiment. I’d imagine pushed colorplus would look like digital camera files from 1997 but who knows?
Pro tip: Overexpose cheap print film and processed it on e6. Hardly anyone ever does it but it can look awesome.

Weren't you waxing lyrical as to how great they are literally 2 weeks ago to me?
-

yeah, not ideal (for me), only way to know is to shoot, they appealed on paper .. back to rangefinders I go.
In that form factor I enjoyed shooting Mamiya 645 Super but the ergonomics are just weird plus the weight ..

Just been looking at my 2018 photos and realise more than ever that I love film way more than digital. Even when it's digitized.
Yeah absolutely, have felt the same way this year. Maybe it's the grain structure, maybe its the way the limitations of film influence the photo, but there is something in film that digital just doesn't have.
Part of it is down to my taste I guess - I get turned off by the clean super sharp hi-res photos that digital cameras can produce. Kinda leaves me cold.
