https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/shimano-bb52-hollow-tech-ii-bb-cups This listing states 68/73mm BB shell compatible - I thought HT2 Road/MTB BB's were differently sized to accommodate the differing axle lengths. Is the description right?
I just want a new BB where I don't have to use those plastic Shimano adapters, so an older style Shimano BB (or a ££ Hope BB) would be ideal.
MTB cups are 1mm thinner than road cups. So for the same shell, you'd need a 1mm spacer each side with mtb cups to fit road cranks.
MTB cups are then used with 3 2.5mm spacers with a 68mm shell with mtb cranks.
