If you could make the venue close to a tube stop and within a safe time window for getting back to Liverpool St. station then I'd be up for popping down for the evening. I'm sure a few of the other Norwich forumengers would be up for it too!

I’ll study the maps and see about a venue - alternatively I could do a little gig in Norwich if you can rustle up a small audience! A tour, perhaps!

A classic, "wanking his knackers flat" has had me giggling all day.

Manchester gig plz Luci. Ride over in the pissing rain for it too if poss ;)

Would go.

Manchester would be interesting - not sure how many would turn up though. Is there a decent forum presence in Manchester? It’d be easy enough to get to for me. Norwich less so, but it’s doable!

Didn’t someone ride miles across the moors in the rain and fog to the gig I went too up in the frozen wasteland?

• #4585
I thought you would be... :)

In like Flynn!

Yep - something mad like 30 miles in wind & rain in pitch black with the intention of rough camping in the beer garden! Very humbling!

Well, that's a cheery one.
Did lol at "...no. Oh no." -

Cheers to you good man.

Yeah, not particularly light hearted.
It was meant to be, then I remembered more and more and it stopped being quite so funny.
Hey ho, it's how it goes... -

This just in. Looking forward to much entertainment!

Oh, well done!! I really hope you like it!

Bleak! But good. As a newcomer (only 8 years now) I recognise the Leeds you’re talking about, although it seems like it might be a bit less grim nowadays. Do you think? I have to hope so, I’m trying to raise kids here.

Only just got around to reading this, and while not one of your giggle or guffaw reads, I love the atmosphere you capture in your writing.

That was fucking excellent Luci. Too real but excellent all the same.

@radar Leeds is totally unrecognisable these days. It was a bleak, horrible hole back then & very stabby. It’s a pretty good place now, a good place to raise a family!

@mi7rennie @JonD thank you lads - it is a dark one, but those were dark days! As soon as I started writing it I was transported back there. The memories of that particular spot are ingrained like muck on a miner’s neck. You can’t shift it, you just have to live with it.

Feel like I was there with you.

I thought as much. I like it here, although it’s taken me a while to feel settled. Your writing is the kind of thing that helps me relate to the place a bit better.
Wasted... tipping it down a Bloke from Leeds and tipping it down the drain is the same thing for many southerners, to be fair, although i’ve always had a very warm welcome in the South!
