What size frame do you have now that needs a 70mm stem?
(I'm currently riding a 50mm but it's my stupid balloonbike MTB and doesn't count) but I have been forced to use 70 or 80mm stem before when I fucked up reading the frame sizes on a used Ribble Audax I bought. I coped for a few years on that bike but a proper length stem is nicer.

I'm riding the 4S 55.5 & ideally need to get my hand position back 5cm & down 2cm which is just not really possible and has not been advised by the fitter - which is why I'm interested in other do-it-all (read: I want it all) framesets.
Back on topic, just spotted the new PX London Road SL but it's a bit porky and might not support Di2..

What stem length and angle do you have now? How many spacers are under it, if any?
-
• #356
100mm/-6 on there & 3T Ergo bars which are apparently notorious for being longer reach than stated. Loads of spacers, at a guess 40mm. So 3cm back and 2cm down would be possible, followed by about 1cm back with different bars.
I could also try an 80mm stem, 2cm down and different bars. -

I've been using the FSA Orbit or something shallow drop bars for ages. They're cheap and work.
Not sure how they compare to yours but they're much shallower than the previous ergo bend bars I was using. How stretched out are you at the moment? Seems a substantial change. Is it causing problems? -
• #358
Need to play with this also, as 2cm less stem doesn't = 2cm less reach http://yojimg.net/bike/web_tools/stem.php
I'm stretched out causing hand pain and rolling shoulders. Should have had a proper bike fit instead of using size guides! Will have a look at those drop bars, don't mind spending a little bit of money to get through Winter on it.

Yeah, I rode a good few years with a stupid stem on a too-long frame so you're not the only one.
There's probably some super shallow bars you could get that might be even better. I know some of the women's bikes from Spesh have very shallow bars and short stems. If you can find similar aftermarket you'd be laughing. -

If you like the 3T enduro, how about the Ribble GCR SL?
Looks interesting but I'd probably use it for road only (have CX bike) for the occasional race and generally with panniers and mud-guards.
https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/ribble-cgr-sl/Wish they'd put the pannier mounts on the more road orientated models.

Funny how my all-black TT bike has never been run into but my hi-viz one was.

Got it yet?
Just looking at the geo and it seems quite tall at the front. A quick look and I could get away with M, L or maybe even XL frames. The L looks similar size to the 57cm Kinesis 4S I rode before the Tripster.
Also had an offer for a cheapish 3T Strada but they don't have FD mount so that's a no go. @eyebrows is still trying to shift his 54cm 3T Exploro which is tempting but probably too low at the front and lacking stuff like mudguard mounts.

It arrived on Friday, but I’ve not had chance to unwrap it yet.
Hopefully I can get it built over Christmas.

You don't need it. Send it over here.

I'm also trying to help a mate find a bike. Anyone got a Ribble CGR in XS or S I could get a test ride on?

Can they wait for the London Bike Show? https://microcosm.app/out/yBuLh
-
• #368
Quite possibly. I'll mention it.
-
• #369
I'm feeling impatient but will be there to try out the CGR SL, in-between sizes according to my bike fit :/
Easier than a trip to Birmingham.

I think I looked at that a few months ago. No 165mm option.
I've gone for 110bcd Quarq PM and will suffer the gaps.
