Gigi is settling in & becoming over confident. She isn't one for sitting & having a fuss as she is far to busy chasing shadows & reflections. When she isn't doing that she likes to play fetch with a stinky toy bird that she also seems to like drowning in her water bowl before flinging at our faces. Still, she is rather cute, especially when she finally settles down to sleep in her window bed.

@betty Gigi is a great name for a black cat, presumably being Ghibli / Kiki inspired?

The very same, yes. We were going to call her Prue, but Gigi fitted her personality better.

Yup, Diz has definitely floofed out as winter is approaching, her coat is thicker, she’s eating more, the stripe down her spine has grown darker and the key sign is that her snow tufts have grown out between her toes. She’s looking magnificent.
Fleur looks like a seal pup there :)

It sometimes feels like she can fly. One minute she isn't there, then next there she is! She is fast.
Her favourite toy is a little black bird, or it was till she tore all the feathers off it, now she takes great joy in drowning it in her water bowl before flinging it around the boat...or dropping it on out heads for the 6am game of fetch.

Precisely why our bedroom is a no cat zone! Harder to enforce on a boat I guess?!

new backyard cat arrived in the garden today, one of those patched black and tan and ginger and white ones, seems friendly enough quite young and seems to enjoy a scratch under the chin , perfect timing as i've heard some mice under the floorboards, might take advantage and send it down and see what it can find, it seems to be a hunter as i first saw it stalking a squirrel through the undergrowth
