  • Yes and no. Well, that's not quite true - yes I definitely am, but in the back of my mind is that bumper+wing mirrors is ~£500 to completely repaint, so PPF would have to be (say) £300 to make sense, and I get the impression that it'll be rather more than that. I may be wrong, however.

  • New screen or repair?

EDIT - Or am I being stupid?

  • Spotted @dammit driving towards Denmark Hill train station around lunchtime today

  • Was heading to Kings to pickup the Mrs.

  • These are getting machined now, much excite.

  • This turned up at one of my work sites yesterday. Very cool!

  • Exciting, can’t wait to see the finished article.

Are they machined from solid or a cast blank in the end?

  • @jonny think you need to find someone breaking a fireblade

  • My heart hurts for mk2s right now

  • Ha yeah. I couldn’t do that to th little green car. Which I want to keep as original as possible.

But I must admit I have watched a lot of souped up polski fiat action, particularly the rally stuff, and may be tempted to getting a second one at some point with a view to sticking a bigger engine in there.

  • What to look for when looking at a 2006 Volvo V50 1.6 Diesel?

  • That top end of engine isn't buggered. If its not got a dpf and it's had its oil changes on time it'll be fine, if not wouldn't, known as the disposible engine!
V50 are good though, it's an up market feeling focus wagon, handle OK and feel modern inside.

  • Love that. What a little sleeper you could make with a quiet pipe!

  • Speaking of which

    @NurseHolliday

Friend, what you think of the Abarth 124?

  • Thanks. We didn't get it though after reassessing our budget.
We want a car because we're going to move country for a period.
We can't afford a car because we're going to move country for a period.

All we actually can afford is a 2002 V40...

    That's not a good idea

  • Hey, friend.

It has questionable looks but the most usable engine out of the Mazda/Fiat range.

250 NM torque and 170ish bhp should make it interesting enough.

  • Are they that bad? I would have thought I could do a lot worse in that price range.

  • Last time I drove one was a newish one in like 03 and I really liked it, but a mate of mine sold a pretty worn one last year and he hated it. According to him it just didn't age well, was noisy on the motorway and generally a shit car.

Take my words with a pinch of salt though as it's just someone's opinion. Perhaps @BrickMan knows them better?

  • I like their look... Lol... Someone has too.

  • check out the other half of P.H.A.R.T's latest finished racer. how fucken cool is this:
