Finally made it outside with the refreshed build. Kind of thinking on gravel tires. Thats hip now, right?

Colossi is sold.
Seems my knees can not keep up with climbing and riding a fixed gear.
I started to flirt with gravel / cx bikes on eBay, when I've bumped into this:Size 52 NJS Makino frame
Hatta headset
TB14 laced wheels
Nitto 65 seatpost
Sugino RD2 cranks.
...So I've bought a track bike once again.
It was pretty much a bargain.

Makino is here.
The track drops are awful in the city, so I will fit the B220's from the Duell. And since its hanging on the wall all year I've finally ordered a B125 to complete the track feeling. On the other hand my knees are still crap. Seems I've just acquired another beautiful and pricey piece of wall decoration.

This shipping was super fast (from japan via eBay)
It took about an hour to swap the grips.

Beaut! Just lower the ratio until the knees stop complaining. Going fast is overrated.

Thanks!
Yeah, that's the plan for the future, and maybe full brakes - even a freewheel? -

Just bought an On-One Pickenflick. Did about 50kms in two days. My experiences riding a geared bike after 6 years of only fixed drivetrains are the following:
-Sh!t sh!t sh!t so much less control with a freewheel. I was terrified in the traffic during the first few kms
-A Ti fame (which was a really old dream of mine) with 44mm wide tires feels like rolling on clouds after the aluminium / road slick combo
-I havent really figured it out how to mout this thing properly.
-My knees are OK so far (!!!!!)

Can relate, went on a mini tour a couple of weeks ago, geared, and this was my experience every time I got on it.

-Sorted a few thing, swapped tires, scrolled trough a number a saddles and seatpost. Settled for a Van Nicholas Ti + Specialized power combo.
-Also done a 200km+ two day trip, and commuting daily 30km+
-Ordered some bikepacking bags and a portland design owl bottle cage.So far so good.

Planning a small tour for the weekend again. Will be around 170-180 kms, first time I wont take a backpack - can't wait.

Serious machine, how do you like that SRAM gear?
-
• #117
Well I do not really have much to compare it with. The last geared bike I had was a "Neuzer" with shimano SIS when I was like 12.
Otherwise I fucking love it. I read a few articles about the groupset, and it might not be the lightest, but so far 100% realible. Double tap shifting is awsome, brakes are biting hard, etc. -

Incoming some upgarde.

Lauf grit in place.
So far I like it. Still some more upgrades are coming:
-new wheelset (novatec x stans ironcross)
-1150 rear casette as the new set will have XD drive
-FSA Super Megatooth 38T chaining
-KMC X11Sl chain for the new drivetrain
-new rotors and padsAlso really tempted to build back up the Makino. Only for budget weekend fun purposes. Will see.

Sram Force 1x groupset bought. Not sure why tho.
-
• #123
New groupset (Force 1) , cockpit (procraft) and seat post collar (Ti from ali) are equiped. Also bought a KMC X11SL because of bling, but probably will use it only after winter is over.
If i think about it, aside from the frame itself, the BB and the headset, I've changed everything on the bike.
Also this is the first winter ever I pedal trough. I've excepted it to be a lot worse. (OK, snow still sucks).

Latest "final" upgrades are:
1199 cassette (-120g)
Xpedo m force 8 pedals (another -120g)
Its not even a WW build, I should really stop spending more on this bike. -
• #125
Crikey, those pedals aren't cheap! How much does it weigh now?
My CX bike weighs more than I'd like, but every time I look into lighter parts, it seems like a massive money pit.
Wait, did you sell the Duell?
