Whatever smarmy fuck(s) at Apple made the decision to not let you dismiss the time to upgrade your OS pop-ups without opening the fucking app store is a grade A "we know what's best for everyone" cunt.
There are hundreds of valid reasons someone might not want to upgrade (especially when Apple have been fined because iPhone planned obsoletion through upgrades is actually a thing). so why not do the user friendly thing they're supposed to be famous for and have a "i'm good thanks stop spamming the shit out of me while i'm trying to work" option right there like they do on every other popup.

Turn notifications off - they are shit anyway. My DND window is basically 4am to 1am.

Picked up an iPad Pro 11 inch today with a folio case. Not really sure if I need a pencil - might leave it for now.
It’s a fucking beautiful device; really thin and light, super easy to hold and use. Keyboard is surprisingly good as well; it actually feels nicer to type on than my MacBook keyboard.
Just waiting on all the apps to be updated properly now. Loads like Netflix don’t fit the screen ratio (it’s no longer 4:3 like other iPads) so all the apps have massive black bars down the side.

I use mine occasionally. Really like using it but it tends to be left in the bag

I've utfg etc but can't find quite what I want. I've got a license of Hedge which, frankly, I hate. That doesn't do quite what I want either.
We have probably 50 terabytes of storage space across a couple of non-networked RAIDs. There are also maybe 30TB in single 1tb drives floating around. I'm in the process of binning off the 1TB drives so not that fussed about those for now as I update everything to SSD, however the 2 RAIDs are pretty crucial to us for archiving at the moment. There are occasions when a video project won't consolidate for whatever reason so we make a duplicate copy. I've always instructed anyone with access not to delete things from the RAID 'just in case' but it's reaching the stage where there are now surely at least 2 or 3 TB (or more) of unnecessarily duplicated files that should be cleaned up.
Question:
Is there some software that can scan a TB2 RAID, work out what duplicates there are and either flag them (if it can detect whether a file is 'complete' rather than a partial copy that'd be ideal) and if possible consolidate things automatically rather than just giving me a report of what to look for and where.
Ideally, I'd like to say "software, please look for a folder called X and a folder called Y and turn them into a new folder called Z with only original material in it; no duplicate files; keep the current folder/sub folder structures; and delete folders X & Y" (though even then that sounds horrendously risky...)

Whats the new aspect ratio? Please say 16:10 or 16:9
-
• #13467
have you ever looked at Beyond Compare?
-
• #13468
I haven't, thanks, taking a look now.

• #13469
It's 1.43:1 which is closer to 16:10 but still pretty square.
For the stuff I do on and ipad, the Square format still works best...

Okay, a challenge. I need to be able to buy the following things, all on the same receipt (from the same shop) :
- A new MacBook Air, with 16GB RAM
- An external GPU that works with the above and a MBP 2017 and an LG 5K.
Ideally (2) will allow the changing of the card, and have ports galore. So not the BlackMagic one on Apple.com. What is the recommendation for (2) and where could I buy both together.

Going to have to be Amazon I think as eGPU's are not sold in many places. Also, hope you are aware you can not directly drive the LG 5K with an eGPU?

Should I buy a Mac mini?

I had one in my basket but then decided I dont want two machines again, although it is tempting, hear nothing but good thinks about them, I already have an eGPU and a screen so I would end up with iMac Pro performance for an additional 1400 outlay... hmmm...
Touchscreen Excel sounds like a nightmare.
