I'm not too excited about both of them.. Would have loved a street track somewhere in the "Randstad".

Oh man, I hope they don't mess with Assen any more - it's such an amazing Bike circuit. Loosing the north loop back a few years back was bad enough...

Very true. Hamilton was absolutely correct in saying, "You had more to lose." Then Verstappen was rightfully given FIA Community Service for his off track behaviour, although I didn't realise the FIA could do that.

Ocon was just a little risky though even with unlapping - i think the rules state that when unlapping yourself it must be clear and risk free to the driver ahead - something like that anyway.
as for Bottas and the conversations we have been having about him - for me now, he's done - no.2 driver next year - these races post-title-win are his chance to shine, come race day he doesnt have it in him for whatever reason. he's no WDC..... so merc will keep him knowing it keeps harmony in the team for 1 more year, then i think both his and hamiltons contracts are up, so we'll see where things go
IIRC i think the merc team management (lauda toto etc) contracts are all up then too, and i believe merc has stated in the past the commitment to F1 at a board level was up until 2020/21 when the bernie agreements were all finishing.... -

....and it was nice to see RBR giving a fight during the race against both the MERC and FERRARI - lets hope we can have a nice 3 way battle next season (despite live races being behind a pay wall)
if that Honda engine proves powerful and reliable. -

That memory is still so vivid to me.. I was such a big Montoya fan..
BTW, it's totally Ocon's fault, hence his stop and go penalty. But there was no need to defend this hard..

Considering Ocon is out of a seat next season and wants to get back in for 2020, that was a bit of a daft thing to do.
Still would rather he was in the number 2 seat at Merc next year though. Can't remember the last time Bottas had a half-decent result.
Also, I heard Liberty were considering moving away from Interlagos, that seems like quite a bad idea.

I was more thinking races where he did a good job for himself.

I would imagine that the new Brazilian leader would take that as a direct insult, and would likely be very keen to deploy the army to protect F1 teams, and shoot anyone who looks at them a bit funny in the process.

Damn scary crash in the Macau F3 race today after a car got spun in the braking zone.
Only injuries mentioned so far seem to be a spinal fracture for the driver. Though two photographers and a marshal were also hospitalised. Those sausage kerbs are pretty scary in situations like this.

seeing that crash from a few different angles, it's unbelievable she survived

After all the (very solid) rumours, Kubica back for Williams next year is a done deal (will find source in a sec). Fantastic story.
Edit: even BBC have the story, so I must be waaaaay late to this!

Girlfriend and I caught up on the last race of the season last night, a fairly entertaining race and a fitting end to what has been in our opinion a strong season. Was great to see Lewis push it right the way to the end and not do his usual post clutching championship tail off. Gutted to see Alonso go but there's enough strength in the field to replace him, contrary to most people i wouldn't rule out a 2020 return.
Next season could be a real banger if Ferrari and RB get their shit together, DR and KR will spice up the midfield, just wish Ocon had landed Bottas's spot (as much as i like him).

Interesting. Binotto's a very good engineer, and a very good technical director. Doesn't necessarily mean he'll make a good team principal though. Time will tell...
