  • After some advice,

Was recommended to start doing squats to help prevent possible injury and build up leg strength.

I just did 4 sets of 25 and my left knee was really starting to hurt, like a sharp, shooting pain. This happened the last time I tried squats, about a year ago, and the reason I shelved squats.

Any advice on what I should do? Avoid them? Try something else?

R.I.C.E. as best as possible & get physio advice. Edit: Get your technique checked too.

  • With weight?

  • 4 sets of 25 sounds a lot.

  • Knees should only be a hinge joint, but they can be loaded with a twisting force and the ligaments resist this... To a point

Make sure your feet point inline with your thighs when squatting.
