  • Not really - just on very steep downhill grass. I have a pair of Roclite 325s (high ankled monstrosities) that I've been using to keep my ankle in check. The rubber isn't as grippy and the tread isn't really designed for the fell, that said, I've managed fine in them apart from a few slippy wet descents.

I did buy a pair of Inov8 x-talon 212s the other day as my new racing shoes but they're just too narrow. Annoyingly, they're absolutely bloody great to run in - until they start to hurt my feet.
£40 anyone? Size 9uk. Done literally 10 miles on the fell/trail.

  • Bargain!

I read your long post too, nice one. Reminds me I've entered Bowstones nye so hoping my knee allows me to do it justice rather than trot around. Beer at finish & missing last year with PF means I'm keen to run it one-way or the other
