Money no object, Baum.

I would put seven cycles in the mix too.
Superb builder.

Passoni - The smoothest titanium welding I've ever seen. Very pricey though...

I'm surprised firefly hasn't been mentioned.
This is a thread I can get down with, no budget custom TI bike...... As you where -

Moots
Erikson
Mosaic
Steve PottsThen everyone else.
No1 in EU makes as good Ti frames IMO.
Budget and titanium are oxymoron.
I am getting a Triton because the wait on most of those ^ is ridiculous. Moots wont do 'custom'. Mosaic is the best value for money but I can't fly to USA to collect which means mad shipping price. Goes for all of them tbh. Moots are hardest to get to from UK.

I’m in the process of getting a frame from Reilly, so will let you know what it’s like once it arrives..
Are we differentiating between those that design and build frames in house and those that design and send off to south East Asia to build?

Have you seen a Passoni in the flesh? Have to say they're lightyears ahead of any other ti brand I've seen. The quality and neatness of the welding is insane. Makes Moots etc look sloppy.
I was blown away by the ones I saw, shame they cost so much!
On the 'budget' end of the scale I do love my Waltly and was very impressed by the service I got from them

Would be very much interested in hearing from your experience with them because being UK based is obviously a huge advantage. Not only for time but also helping someone local than sending shit lots of money to the US and in shipping and tax, keep us in the loop
-
• #12
Did not know all that about Moots and Mosaic. I prefer Mosaic personally from a pure look point of view. But yeas I agree what would stop me is the cost of shipping and tax and wait etc
-
• #13
I do think Passoni do something to hide the weld beads e.g. filing or some kind of filler which might explain the smooth look.
Eric Baar / GroundUp Speedshop does the best titanium welds IMO. Firefly best overall finishing but insane wait

I used to love passoni but for some reason came off them purely for aesthetics reasons I must admit. The quality of the build and the work quality is of course outstanding and admirable.
-
• #15
And Yes let’s focus on the frame designed and made in house.

Sturdy - Nice custom frames using some 3d printed Ti bits.

Titchmarsh up in York look really well made - http://www.bespoked.cc/Photo%20galleries/2016%20Photos/titchmarshcycles.html

Mosaic are unbelievably good. The ride quality makes even top-end carbon bikes seem mediocre by comparison.
-
• #19
That is some weird shit.
@Saffronspokes they might be good, I am just allergic to most things Italian as it comes with sycophancy and fake romanticism.

i can only speak about what i know, but my albannach torragar has been superb, and Jim was so so helpful with his attention to detail and willingness to customise. I know a good few other folk riding various frames and they've all been loving them.

is that a walty?
-

I could not have put it in better words.
Tommasini ti frame are also highly rated

There's a lot more to a good frame than welding that looks good. Baum and Firefly have their tubes custom butted in-house for example, Passoni doesn't. It also looks like they file their welding?
If it's only looks you're after you would also have noticed how average Passoni's paint is, and it's not like they have paid much attention to the graphic design overall (see Baum, Firefly or Stinner for comparison). For £6K I'd expect more. -
• #24
Each to their own I guess...But yes agree looks aren't everything
Having seen a number of the brands mentioned above in the flesh rather than just on the internet I have to say the level of finish on the Passoni trumped everything else. Anyway @Aldersbrook isn't a fan, so that's all that matters.
Firefly would definitely be next on the list for me though

Alabannach and waltly certainly look very interesting in terms of value for money. Very much like it.
Forgot about Baum and firefly. Both outstanding for sure and definitely deserve to be in the list!
After owning, alu, carbon and steel bikes in that order I have come to the conclusion that I have never owned (and ridden) a titanium bike so I am contemplating the idea of a n+1 to fill the gap. I like the idea of uncommun high end bespoke and handmade bike with custom paint so I have been looking at a few brands that I like and would tick those boxes.
My question is if you had to chose which one would you go for and why?

Ind. Fab.
Enigma
Moots
Mosaic
Reilly
Other?
