  • Sorry to hear about the last month. On the whole though very impressive work over a long period- which is the harder part of weight loss.

I returned from a month of surfing in pretty good physical shape but with a broken rib and a possible torn External Oblique (US scan pending). Back up into the 67/68 kg region after 2 weeks of pain and over-eating.
IF and Huel will now become part of life (as until am pain free can't see getting much consistent exercise in), and went for my first almost proper exercise session yesterday. Aiming to test the swimming early tomorrow morning and some Gym time today.
May try and sneak to Devon for a surf Monday/ Tuesday as well.

  • 17/9/18 98.45kg
    26/9/18 96.3kg
    3/10/18 96.4kg
    10/10/18 96.3kg
17/10/18 95.2kg - half term next week so need to get the loss in early

  • Just back from a trek in Nepal, recorded my lowest weight since I've started recording (2.5 years ago) it, so pretty pleased with that. Hoping to capitalise and keep it off and then a bit, down to 70kg by Christmas.

    Tactics:
Move away from the ~£1 bags of snacks/crisps, back down to normal portions
    Run more
    Cycle more

  • I think I abandoned my graph a while ago. Weight seems to be landing anywhere between 80-82kg. I look leaner I think and at least I'm back to normal weight after pushing up to 85kg.

Definitely failing at avoiding sweets tho.

  • A good tip for this if you can, keep a tub or something so that you can decant 3rds of a large bag of crisps into. Keeps them fresh and stops you eating them all in one go (in theory), and/or paying 80p for a small bag

  • You mean you can eat crisps and lose weight!!??

  • If you're in calorie deficit you can.

  • you can eat some crisps and gain less weight

  • Or just stop eating crisps. Stupid food. #foodcrack

  • You could have 100% of your calories come from crisps and still lose weight, if you were in a calorie deficit. You'd be fucking unhealthy but it'd still work.

  • Foodcrack is right. I know full well that even after I decanted the bag I'd be back for the rest of it. If it's in my kitchen, it's getting eaten.

Maybe I should build a snack timecapsule.

  • 6th Oct: 70.9kg
    6th Nov: 68.4kg

About 2.5kg in a month which is pretty steady progress, same again in the next month would get me to 66kg, which was my goal for this year!

  • This is why I now leave my house devoid of any snacks. They just get destroyed. Even the small barrier of going down to the shops is often enough to make me rethink and if I'm really hungry grab fruit, yog, or something slightly more nutritious. All bets are off if I'm already drunk and walking past shops though...

  • Yeah. Same here.

No crisps or biscuits in the house. I just buy big jars of pickled gherkins from Aldi/Lidl and demolish the entire jar if I feel snacky.

Just 63 kcal a jar and I've never managed two in a row yet.

    Yet...

  • Nuts. Almonds. Etc. Berries. Raisins. They are your snack friends.
Also, dark chocolate rice cakes are rather nice.

  • Problem is that a portion of nuts isn't very big and you still have a whole pack of them left over to keep eating...

  • I had a disappointing handful of pecans once, and then subsequently discovered it was about 400kcal worth. Flipped my shit.

  • Good fats!

  • I've never really stuffed myself with unsalted nuts. Salted is another thing entirely in my experience

  • Well done, steady is good

  • Myprotein chocolate puddings with spoonful of peanut butter or (whey peanut butter). 150cals, tastes good and decent protein/low sugar. Thats my snack tip. Also HUEL.

  • Too calorie dense for me, and too easy to overeat.
The fruit, but and chocolate snack mixes are a test from the devil.

Pickled gherkins, raspberries/blackberries/blueberries and sugar free jelly pots have been my snacks when desperate.

  • Anyone had experience of Huel. Is it a meal replacement type thing or something you take all day? My nephew has bought some.

  • Huel thread>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Really. Who would have known 😁
