  • The original marathon ride?

I think we started at Tower bridge (cause 26.2 miles was way too far to ride) at 7am and proceeded to bolt it round canary wharf and down the embankment on perfectly empty roads with the workmen putting up barriers cheering us on. Lots of sudden group sprints for no reason. Then got stopped by security on the final sprint down the Mall. Retired to a greasy spoon for fry up breakfast. Great Sunday morning.

  • Great day, small group, fast pace, joyous ride..

  • Sames, always makes me feel a little twinge of sadness that despite 10+ years of forumenging I've yet to ever make it to any forum event as a non-Londoner.

  • This place and it's tendrils have given me some of my most memorable times.

    That's pretty amazing.

  • Do come to London sometime! Would be great to meet you.

  • Absolutely, I'll keep my eyes peeled for a good forum event to attend!

  • I think we should do a new kind of event: Easts TT/Freezing Bridges/Richmond Park Deer Dodge Without Lights/Drag Sprints/Bright Times/Falling Over In Clubs In Sidis/Avebury/Gatecrashing Some Other Cycling Thing/Monopoly Fancy Dress Halloween/Pizza/Coffee/Guiness/GSAID ride.

    list:

    1. @dogsballs
    1. @dogsballs
    2. @50/14

Needs that pic of dale in a mankini

  • Nuts to Rapha, London to Brighton?

    rep @50/14 :) soz Em

  • That just made me read Paul's arrival thread

    some stand out quotes:

you do realise he is now called "50x14"
and if he comes back on this forum he MUST change his username to
    "50x14"

I definitely learned a few things though. Like not taking everything
I own in a courier bag for the just-in-case scenarios that didn't
    happen. I suspect I need a smaller bag...Now where's Scottnotscot with
    those hip bags.

nice bike, are they tubs as well?!? good god!

    and

Hi, I'm a friend of Roberto's and he's asked me to join. Trouble is my
fixie's not ready, so I'll have to use my road Tery Dolan with gears
and brakes. Hope that's ok. Paul

Just imagine if he'd used his Dolan.

  • Haha, that made me chuckle

  • I remember riding with him to brighten with @pigfarmer @PinkGottiMobbs @Spins and FRANK and fiddy drinking snakebites on the train on the way back with a can of strongbow and a can of stella straight into his mouth.

Moser with denim and a leather jacket. Stopped to fix a puncture. First time he put the same tube back in. Second and third time both his tubes already had holes in.

If he was just going to the pub it was full lycra

  • Yes!

    I loved that bike.

My mate's kid now thrashes it about so it's still getting used.

I don't even fixeh these days. The shame.

  • Yeah me too. That was the last bike I fixehd with :(
I've got a photo somewhere from one of the early bridges rides where I was on the sword. Got papped on Tower Bridge. Let me try and find it.
Glad it's getting still getting lots of use.

  • kwality foto graffy

  • We haven't had Sloaney Pony drinks for ages.

  • Last one was just after @hoops broke his collarbone no?

  • Not sure. Don't even know where that was taken?

  • Looks like near Vauxhall

  • Last one is the Vauxhall bus stop, biggest skate ramp in the world..

  • How about I organise a Bridges Ride that includes a Circle Line Ride, East Ride an ends up in tramp beers in Brick Lane?

Make a list I will make it happen.

  • N2R was another of mine. I prophesied 50/14 was going to crash and tried to disuade him directly and through Roberto for him to give the ride a pass.

    Sorry @Object sorry Seb
