G One Speed are so good, but why tubes? Tubeless tyres aren't that great once you add tubes.
Personal tubed commuting favourites are Vittoria hypers, Michelin pro4 endurance and Continental Gran Prix Race. -

Aint got tubeless wheels. Bought the G-One's off SJS after an insane price error which someone helpfully posted on here, not expecting them to deliver, but to their credit they did.

Have 32 or 35 hypers on my commuter for around one year now, setup ghetto tubeless, had one puncture but TBF the piece of metal that went through it would have gone through most things.
Were fine last winter too when it was horrible for months , no more slippy than most -

Got a pair of those at the time too for my mrs bike plus a spare pair. They went out of stock when everyone bought them at the insane price and to their credit they even said sorry, we’ll send you them at the same price when they’re back in stock.

Anyone tried Bontrager AW3 as winter commute tyre ? Thinking 32mm on Jamis tourer.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a Maxxis stockist in londons finest London that will have a pait of Maxxis Rambler 700x40C?

I reckon I might go tubeless on my distance / winter biek as the wheels are tubeless compatible. 32mm, mainly road, gravel aspirations. Gravelkings? Those Hutchinson Sectors?
-
• #5834
Gravelking Sk for almost everything, not too sluggish on road, good on towpath/bridleway, not great in muddy conditions though.
-
• #5835
I'm trying G-Ones next, didn't think the Gravelkings were particularly special.

Why when gp4000 and 4 seasons come in that size?
-
• #5837
r u saying don't bother tubeless?
-
• #5838
Don't think GP4000 do 32mm, only 28mm.
-
• #5839
True, but on wide rims, they always measured way bigger. GP4S were closer to size indicated.
-
• #5840
There's still no 32mm GP4000. They come up 30-31mm on 20mm internal rims.

G One Speed, unless you need something cheap for commuting. Best winter tires I've ever tried, very easy to set up tubeless

Whilst this is up...
What's the current best choice for a wet-weather clincher in 700 x 23mm?
Has to be 23mm to fit under my mudguards. My Rubino Pros have awful grip when I'm out of the saddle on steep / wettish hills.
-
• #5843
What psi are they kept at? If it’s high I guess you Might have to lower it a bit to get some grip.. not ideal with 23mm though.
-
• #5844
Conti GP 4 seasons are decent.
-
• #5845
There's not much you can do with 23mm, if you drop too much pressure you'll get snake bites. I just spin in the saddle if I know the wheel is going to skid.
That said I like schwalbe one/ pro one but even with cx tires I've lost traction doing sloppy sprints uphill -

I recommend GP4 Seasons.

Don't think GP4000 do 32mm, only 28mm.
Measured way bigger, closer to 31mm.
The 25mm measured closer to 28mm.
-
• #5849
I know, some batches were massive, some were close to sizes as intended.
The 25mm GP4000sII on a normal 15mm rims is around 27mm.

usually 90 - 100 psi (I inflate to 100 every three or four weeks)
Cheers all. I'm half tempted to throw the marathon green guard (3000 odd miles, 0 punctures) back on and stop worrying, but I keep holding out I'll find something relatively fast, comfortable and utterly puncture proof.
