Hibernating or just resting?
Cardboard box packed with crumpled newspaper.
Thick gloves, (Toolstation Welders gauntlets?),
pick the hedgehog up, deposit in cardboard box,
place box in garden with protection from weather/rain.

Cardboard box = prison to most animals.
Crumpled newspaper + ready to hibernate hedgehog might = contented hedgehog as it can make an insulating nest.
