Thing is, it's not even slightly full. She's a writer so not storing thousands of videos /photos crazy applications. She saves all that for filling up her phone till it grinds to a halt.

Evening all. I purchased an iPhone XS today (Three contract). Has anyone any tips for transferring data from my iPhone 7 to the new phone.
I’m keen not to lose or change anything. Especially my Apple Watch and Health data.Thanks.

Make sure your iPhone is backed up to iCloud and then just use that backup to restore the new phone as part of the setup.
Then you should end up with a 'copy' of your phone on both devices.
Check you're not missing anything then wipe the old phone.
Should be super straight forward.

Make a backup of your iPhone 7 with iTunes (check "encrypt itunes backup").
Restore new phone from backup. -

Thanks all. I’ll give it a go over the weekend.
I will be in touch if encounter any issues but it seems to be the same as the change to the iPhone 7. Health data is the real worry. -

Would love to but nuts week with work. Hopefully, next week will be quieter. Might take some time off in mid-November depending if a project comes off or not so toying with a new gaming build and some days with pizza/nachos and pubg.

OK so new 2018 MBP. Want to connect it to 2013 iMac for use as a monitor. I read that you can still do that with that gen of iMac. Connection wise, what do I need? Ideally a TB3 to TB2 cable but I can't seem to find any of those. So would it be TB3 > TB2 adaptor then TB2 cable > iMac?
Has anyone else got experience of this?

Internet woes. I use https://picclick.co.uk/ to browse eBay, but for some bizarre reason, it's stopped scrolling on wifi which is through sky. However, when I hotspot with my mobile it's fine. I've tried restarting everything, clearing everything, but no joy. Is there a simple solution to this madness?

Has anyone got a recommendation for an inexpensive wired extended keyboard that plays nicely with Mac? Not massively bothered about aesthetics although if it doesn’t look revolting that would be a bonus.

Have a look at Cherry keyboard, same mapping as an Apple keyboard and it looks alright. They are about a tenner each.

i had to double check this - rEFInd uses Apple's bootcamp drivers so I think it would be the same. But you're right, there are generally resource allocation problems on Windows using mac hardware for latest Mac machines. There's a really good guide here https://egpu.io/bootcamp-setup-guide-tb3-macbook-pro/ which recommends rEFInd over Bootcamp for more control.
Much more importantly, we've both got Nvidia eGPUs right? I can't find either web or CUDA drivers for Nvidia cards on Mojave, and the story is that Apple have dropped CUDA support in Mojave. So short of installing High Sierra I can't see a solution on the horizon...

Cheers, I shall take a gander

The ability to share a photo to Flickr has vanished from my Mac since I went to Mojave - has this happened to anyone else, or have I buggered a setting somewhere?

Oh I have ready every page on that forum about 10000 times over... reg resource allocation, I'm nowhere near knowledgeable enough to work it out properly but when using rEFInd and/or apple_set_os (which does the same: trick the Macbook into thinking its still booting into macOS) my monitor remains black, I can hear it being recognised and peripherals plugged into it work, but there is no actual picture.
And yep, using Nvidia, drivers are confirmed to be in the works for Mojave (confirmed by Nvidia ) but no release date has been shared. I'm currently running a 1070 but getting tempted by a 2070, although the VR post won't connect to my 5K sadly (has been tested).
Looking at my steam library (plenty of macOS titles) I'm almost tempted to bin off windows for gaming and grab a Vega card, but that's prob unwise...
does anyone have a macbook air 11” collecting dust, that they’re willing to let go for real cheap? i need one just to keep on me at uni. got a 15 at home but it’s a pain to carry that everyday
