  • The Citroen AX is one of the best driver's car ever made. Fact.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBFjHjm0O5M

  • Only reason he got rid of it cause it’s not a safe car (no ABS, air bag, etc.).

  • Mx5 it is then.

  • Maybe not....did have a gt and that was fun.

  • It will rain, a fucking load of rain.

Looks shit in the grey drizzle, have tried a few times to tour the area by motorbike. It rained. When it didn't rain and it was sunny, which can change within less than 500yards, looked amazing but the being wet really drains you.

  • Bizarre that a place famous for lakes has a lot of rain

  • And drizzle and everything in between.

As I said being soaking wet doesn't make it fun.

  • Yep, going walking for a few days. Got wet weather gear and expecting to get soaked. Cars got a hardtop.

  • Yup mx5. I'm from there too.
Loads of decent roads, avoid Ambleside and Windermere in aeaosj, horrible, constant coach's of OAP and Germans (not hating o these groups, there's just so many of them).

The west side of the lakes is my area, much more rugged, some excellent driving roads. All the faster Twister a roads and cool dual carriageway race ways have been ruined, average speed cameras, traffic calming and generally ruined. Good b roads are a plenty.
Take compliant larger sidewall tyres that enjoy working at 5c in the rain, because that's what it's like most of the time .

  • I’m driving up from London so lots of motorway miles first. Subaru has cruise control. Plus if the roads in lakes are fucked (I’m going to west lakes) I’m not changing my tyres for one trip.
Sounds like there some good stuff up there so I’ll take the Mazda and take it easy on the rough stuff...

  • Spotted in Lanzarote. Deep dish steel wheels really did it for me.

  • I've climbed up that extinct volcano. Lovely craterage

  • Nice. All I really did was drink Tropical all week. It was brilliant.

  • does anyone have a recommendation for a driving school in North London?

  • I have dry fitted this arch extension about 350 times tonight.

  • Needs a bit more RWB attitude:

  • No engine in and the wrong coil overs on the front really isn’t helping that

I can crouch in front of it like that if you want though

  • Take of springs from coilovers, lower car to the right ride hight with jack, measure left to right 100 times, put the kettle on...
    Sounds simple no?

Edit: masking tape and the fiborous(?) putty are your friends if you want a really neat, tight gap all way round.

  • Anyone interested in an 03 Skoda Octavia VRS estate? 116k miles, just had cambelt, service, new rear caliper and MOT done last month.

  • Petrol? £££? My Volvo shat itself last night (one week after a lovely new MOT) and I'm not sure whether I can be bothered to keep it on the road – waiting to see what the problem is.

  • This is a good idea, but also you could wait until everything is in, and you have final ride height, and then do the arches?

  • So we've officially entered wheelspin season, spun the wheels in 4th on Sunday, although it was truly biblical.

My friend has bought a new Time Attack car, EK Type-R, entered it in Rockingham round on Sunday, terrible day for it, but it's surprisingly quick even with the original B16b engine. He's signed up for a full year again next year so after a 5 year break I'll be back at every round again next year. If anyone wants to tag along to any rounds, just give me a shout, it's pretty fun being in all the action in the garages, although it does get hectic when it's just me doing all the suspension and tyre setup.

  • i'm up for some shenanigans.

i'll be a silverstone this weekend if you want some historic sports car action...

  • I'm not allowed 2 motorsport weekends in a row until I can take the bab with me, would have loved to otherwise.

  • is it sat and sun rich?
