SOLD
Selling a pair of very light 1970s tubs, built on excellent (even legendary) lightweight low flange Pelissier 2000 hubs, 33 spoke with Mavic Monthléry tubular rims, double butted stainless spokes, including three good Vittoria Corsa gum-sided 23c tubs, two stretched on the rims but not glued (they have been glued before), the other folded as a spare.
Front: 680g
Rear: 1330g with 6 speed Regina freewheel
Pelissier hubs used very high quality sealed annular Magneto bearings, and were among the first hubs built for lightness, simplicity, and ease of service. Years ahead of Campag at the time, in the simplicity of the design more like Record Titanium of 20 years later.
100 front over locknuts, 126 rear over locknuts.
The Mavic Monthléry rims are 622 x 20c and in good order but with old glue residue. One of them is the special lightweight version with the outer surface drilled with large recesses in a version of drillium, the other is the standard version.
Unlike most 70s wheels, these are c. 1500g without freewheel, so very lightweight by contemporary standards.
Includes a good 6 speed Regina freewheel. Perfect for your authentic Strada Bianca rig.
I got these for a build project that never went anywhere.
£100 or decent offer, collect from Highbury N5, or can post if you really want for £15.
Please ask if you have questions.
