Also "custom" with Mielec isn't for the size. I ordered a frame size M. I never gave my measurements or anything. It's custom in the sense that I chose all the tubes of the frame specifically, shape and diameter. And he made the tapered headset on request, something he had never done before.
Shit fixie skidders say
Fit is more important than tube selection, and I’d trust a frame builder to chose appropriate tubing. So custom tube choice is a weird option when fit is more crucial.

Got a +/- 8 now and gonna test a +/- 10 thomson, altough seeing @SamuelBlackMetalRider fitment, i'm still not satisfied - but there's also a chance his headtube angle to be slightly different than on my Mash copy.

Well to each his own I guess. My interest was being able to choose everysingle tube of the frame, design something unique.
I own 6 track bikes/fixies, carbon, aluminium and steel. Each has a different geometry and size. I don't give a damn, i adapt to the bikes, enjoy the hell out of every one of them.Danyutz a -17' stem will result in a quasi horizontal stem, kinda parallel to the road if you will.

That’s the irony, it’s not your own geometry which would be the more useful thing to adapt.

Does Mielec give you the option of custom tubing?
-
• #5082
Yes mate, you could read that on the previous page
-
• #5083

But I read that you can choose the shape of the tubing but can you choose the actual material? -
• #5085
Just aluminium.

• #5086
Did anyone remove the original paint from their Mielec? What is the best way to do this?

Thoughts and prayers.

I built this Mielec for my brother 5 years ago (beginning of the thread), this was from the first batch!
He's never used it but still dusts it every so often...

So gross. Would ride.

Frameset has zero miles.
All other parts were lightly used.
I should really bring it back to London and split it! -
• #5092
My short friend kinda fancies the whole thing. Got a ballpark figure and vaguely how big your brother is? :)
-
• #5093
I think this was a 52cm equivalent in Mash terms. My brother is 172cm
Raw aluminium with a glitter clearcoat. How's £350 complete?

anyone know a good steel frame builder - preferably UK?
-

There is a good aluminium frame builder in Poland I would recommend, it's called Mielec.

Good, yes. Cheap, no.

Definitely cheap but I can't complain about the quality either, I've been using mine as a commuter/beater etc for about 6 years now.
Not to say that you have to have a 73 degree head tube. May be different on your frame but it’s a good average
