I think that Craigslist banned ads for sex workers some time ago.

I'm sure everybody's seen this by now, but here's a shorter summary of Kavanaugh lies:
Doesn't it seem likely that something even more scandalous will come out after he's confirmed?
-
• #6754
The Dems need a majority in the Senate to take over the judiciary committee for that.
-
• #6755
Republicans/Trump have played a blinder here. Get their pick, get the base motivated.
-
• #6756
Maybe. Although I read an interesting take that Trump would’ve been happy for him not to be confirmed because that would motivate his base even more.

Surely he’s just trolling with Ivanka

Or maybe she gets immunity from prosecution being there?
http://www.un.org/en/ethics/pdf/convention.pdfOr maybe it’s to distract from something worse like usual? (Tax-dodging daddy still a hot topic on US television?)
-
• #6761
The tax-dodging stuff seems not to have created much of a response. I imagine that Trump is deliberately not commenting on it so as not to give it any attention.

This "will of the... people" line has a familiar ring to it.
-
• #6763
Shame. I assume that it's because it's rife (as over here) and nobody else wants it mentioned either.

Bit long and not directly about Trump [he does touch on him] but interesting.

"And really, the reason why they imprisoned him [Larry Hoover] is because he started doing positive for the community. He started showing that he actually had power, that he wasn't just one of a monolithic voice, but he could wrap people around. So there's theories that there's infinite amounts of universe, and there's alternate universe, so it's very important for me to get Hoover out because in an alternate universe I am him, and I have to go and get him free." - Kanye West

While everyone was focussed on Kavanaught, the GOP sneaked through another tax cut for the rich adding $600 billion to the deficit.
This is in addition to the tax cut in Trump's budget that added over a trillion to the deficit.
A lot of tweets about an old Trump tweet that said if the Dow dropped 1000 points the president should resign, referring to Obama.
Dow dropped almost 900 points on Wednesday and Trump says it is doing better than ever.
I think he actually lives in his own fantasy world. -

There's no fantasy land, he's just deeply cynical. I still think he is on for a second term. Losing the mid terms may even help him as it will give him someone to blame.

Trump's economic success from deficit financing illustrates the total failure of the austerity policies followed by most western countries over the last decade. It could all blow up in his face due his trade policies and the failure to distribute the benefits beyond the richest families.
Trump is no stranger to deficit financing. This podcast tells us how he defaulted on US bank loans and lent himself $50 million to avoid tax while borrowing $300 million from Deutsch Bank private. That's the same bank that has been prosecuted for laundering masses of Russian money.

He's been saying the Saudi murder of Khashoggi is particularly bad because he's a journalist. Brazen.
-
• #6773
Trump Jr is onto how Kashoggi once interviewed Osama Bin Laden... and we all know what that means right? Wink wink, nudge nudge.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-jr-boosts-smear-tying-missing-journalist-jamal-khashoggi-to-islamic-terrorismOn the other hand, maybe Trump Jr should be a bit careful with equating meeting with to sympathising with.

For over two years Trump has defined the press as the enemy, purveyors of fake news, the failing newspapers. The Saudis see this and agree. They take out a critical journalist probably thinking Trump will praise them for it. How long before Trump switches, following his son, and becomes an apologist for the Saudi murder?
